What helps me is looking online to see how the place looks inside so I can get an idea on what to wear lol

A good organization to join is NABA (National Association of Black Accountants). They have plenty of events that nonmembers can go to. And if there is a fee (usually for mixers/parties and not so much educational/networking events) it won’t cost more than $40 at the door (and of course cheaper if you purchase before hand). You’ll meet plenty of accountants, lawyers, finance people, entrepreneurs, etc

Membership is $1,000 for professionals so if you’re going to these events to meet guys I suggest taking advantage of all nonmember related events 😂

They have these similar meetings for Lawyers. Lawyers and legal professionals are required to complete containing legal education. So they have seminars where they are updated on laws, ethics, technology in the workplace etc. You can meet lawyers en mass. Because I'm a broke paralegal I always look and attend the free seminars for my own fulfillment. Paralegals aren't required to keep up but lawyers are. I used this method as a way to network and meet lawyers in order to get into a good practice and a feel for different businesses. But it can be used to meet affluent men as well.

Haha seriously. I watched a video with Steve Harvey talking about women sitting alone at the bar. They're generally perceived as 'working girl's so I'd suggest just going with a friend and having drinks and perhaps food.

If it’s a restaurant there’s a chance they won’t care during happy hour because it’s a restaurant lol so you can check out those. And get virgin drinks. The worse thing you can do is purchase an alcoholic beverage and not only get embarrassed by being kicked out but also fined 😂
