An Irishman is taking his theory test. One of the questions is, 'what do single yellow lines mean?' His answer is, 'no parking at all.' The next question is, 'What do double yellow lines mean?' HIs answer is 'no parking at all at all.'

@@123ShadowMario There's a stereotype that Irish people say "at all at all" instead of just "at all", so if one yellow line means "no parking at all", then two yellow lines must mean "no parking at all at all", which is the same as the stereotype. Basically, the number of yellow lines = the number of "at all"s in the answer.

These videos are amazing, passed on Saturday with 0 minors and I didn’t have one lesson, only hadn’t even had my provisional for 4 months too, if you have some determination and watch videos you don’t need more that one lesson teaching you how to control the car but the information on how to pass is all on KZbin you just need to have your own car to practice in, but this will be cheaper than lessons, even if you are having lessons these are also great because you can learn what you need to do before going into your lesson and then it won’t take you as long to grasp it. All I can say to you is THANKYOU!!!! For making these great videos.

Yeah! Nice video! It is curious how traffic rules are special in each country. Single and Double red lines (Red Route), zig-zag lines, I like it. Imagine stopping at taxi marks and someone getting inside our car asking for a ride, I think it would be funny. "Must and Should '' are very interesting parts of the rules, I suppose it makes UK traffic more dynamic. Due your hard work to teach us with those excellent videos even that beautiful bird wants to learn how to follow the traffic rules. It deserves to be filmed. Thank you very much Richard!

Great video, but can you explain how the examiner would mark the candidate if they parked in the wrong place? For example, if a learner on their test did stop on double yellows, would that be a minor (driving error), or a fail (serious error)?
@ConquerDriving
@ConquerDriving Жыл бұрын
The examiner will likely fail the pupil if they stop in an unsafe or illegal place. Since stopping on yellow lines is not illegal then it's unlikely to be a fail. The examiner will usually ask the pupil to pull over when there is a safe place very soon, if they want the pupil to stop on yellow lines (sometimes they do) the examiner will explain to the pupil to ignore the yellow lines on this occasion. If they don't mention the yellow lines then it's best to avoid them as it is illegal to wait on yellow lines.

@TheShishaDoctor 2 жыл бұрын
Honestly, it varies person to person. But imo, main reasons a person would fail is because of roundabouts or meeting situations. By the time you do your test you shouldnt be stalling (few times is still ok, wont fail). Get your reverse bay parking and parallel parking on point (make your own reference points tailored to you). Watch a show me tell me video for your specific car so you know where everything is and what it does. Apart from that, just make sure you do your 6 checks whenever you stop or park up. Check centre mirror every 5-10secs. Check centre and side mirror whenever youre turning, and centre mirror when changing speed/gear. Examiners are nice, they arent there to try and fail you. Also, when they ask you to pull up on the side - NEVER do it infront of a driveway! (Unless they specifically state you can) GOOD LUCK!

Hi, thank you for your videos. They have been very helpful to me. I've a question and hope you could advise if possible? I've a new driving instructor due to my previous instructor changing career last month and my test is this coming Wednesday. My question is; I've always used my mirrors aswell as quick check forward to see it's clear and safe aswell as using my side mirrors while reversing two car lengths, this was taught to me by my previous instructor. I was never told to watch where I'm going through looking through the rear window aswell as using my mirrors by my previous instructor. My new one said this isn't the safest way and could cause me to fail. I should be looking behind (through the rear window) while reversing two car lengths, aswell as using my mirrors and a quick check forward to make sure it's safe and clear. Is this the case? I'm now very nervous and haven't a lesson until the morning of my test on Wednesday. Thank you for your time and your videos.

Some instructors teach this. I disagree that you should look primarily through the back window as you can't guide your car due to the limited view. You will pass your driving test if you complete the manoeuvre with good control and good observations. As long as you make regular 360 degree checks it doesn't matter what method you use. I use my mirrors to guide my car backwards and look round every so often to get a better view of what's coming.

I know you cant stop on a solid bicycle lane, but can’t you stop on a broken bicycle lane?

Highway code says you must not stop or park on a tram for cycle lane.

My instructor told me not to park opposite a car as it narrows the gap for passing cars. If the road is wide, is this ok? Also, are you allowed to park opposite a junction?

The difference between Must and Should (according to Oxford English Dictionary) practically have the same meaning. No wonder the English language is so confusing to foreigners, even for the English!
@carlosnunes929
@carlosnunes929 Жыл бұрын
They still have a different meaning as the word 'must' goes under the act of actually following an order or rule no matter the context where as 'should' is more of a term to let people know that you doing something will likely be safer for everyone but it's not mandatory.

Can you park in countryside in 30 miles ph without a road mark in narrow road?
@ConquerDriving

Depends how narrow the road is, you must not block the road. I wouldn't recommend it on a narrow road.

Hi if I’m going on narrow road and there’s a bus pulled over for passengers. Should I or shouldn’t I overtake it since my view in restricted due to the bus. Any tips please what to do in this situation to avoid queue of traffic behind.
@ConquerDriving
@ConquerDriving 2 жыл бұрын
You should try to overtake it if safe, try not to get yourself in a position where you can't see, hold back far and close to the middle of the road to improve your view.

Please can you clarify this. Can i park on and then move off from a single yellow line during the driving test when the examiner asks u to pull up on the left? Eg if the no waiting plates say 11am - 3pm and my test is at 10am?
@ConquerDriving
@ConquerDriving 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, the examiners will normally mention the yellow lines if they want you to stop on them.

Hi Richard , I would like to know , the new rule said we should give way to people who want to cross in the junction, yesterday I went an big roundabout, when I leaving the roundabout there was pedestrian want to cross the junction, I did stop and give way to them, but the car behind me overtake me at the same time , is this my fault? Am I fail a test in this situation ? Many thanks .
@ConquerDriving
@ConquerDriving Жыл бұрын
If it's safe to give way you should, if it's not safe you should continue. If the pedestrian looks like they will walk or is already walking in the road then of course give way. It's rarely safe to stop when leaving a busy and flowing multilane roundabout.
