Investing in real estate in Puerto Rico. Is it a good place for LLC's and single member charging orders?

Sorry but I do not know the answer to that one.

I tried this for an IL llc and the state denied the application. Anyone have any insights? I have a WY LLC and want that LLC to own the IL LLC which I'm using for a house I'm flipping in chicago

Strange. We set this structure up all the time in IL.

Great video, could you more about residing in CA and having real estate in other states? California sucks for business and taxes...😢

When the nominee resigned, and owner name update with Wyoming Sec of State after a year. Would owner name exposed? Should we set up as manager management instead of member management. What the difference base on LLC protection
@ClintCoons4 жыл бұрын
No difference in terms of asset protection. In WY you do not need to list the manager so you do not need to use a nominee who resigns. In Nevada you must us a nominee manager. If you elected to set up a member managed LLC then you will list all of the members.

If I'm wholsaling in Georgia is it OK to have a Wyoming LLC? And or what do you suggest Clint?

Who would I use for the registering agent in these LLC's? Would it require hiring a Registered Agent Service and using their address or could I simply use a buddy as the registered agent and then apply for say a UPS box as the mailing address for said agent?

Another great video Clint! If I'm just investing in my home state, does the holding and secondary LLC's need to be manager managed or member managed? We plan to be taxed as a partnership. Thanks!

I have this same question

So would you have to file taxes in WY and in the state you live ?

You mentioned nominee resigning without having to report in Wyoming or Nevada LLCs, but what about New Mexico (LLC), as I understand it offers anonymity as well?

Clint, thanks for this video and other. Very informative for investors in real estate. I live in Texas and own a couple of properties here. I also have one property in Illinois. Is it better to manage all these properties in one LLC or is better to set them up as 3 LLCs?

Always a separate LLC for each property. Unless you want to lose everything in a lawsuit

I just got turned on to your videos today and they have been an amazing resource. Thank you! My question is: if you aren't into real estate investing and therefore not needing to create a Wyoming LLC/corporation/land trust, yet still want to maintain some anonymity and/or have charge order protection, and you live in (say) Maryland, is it OK to form a Wyoming LLC anyways, or should you form the LLC in Delaware or Virginia (both of which are cheaper than forming a Maryland LLC) instead?
@jalabi996 жыл бұрын
If it's good enough for DuPont, then it's good enough for me! One new Delaware LLC coming up! :) Thank you again, sir! Edited to add one more question: for my upcoming non-real-estate-related "holding company" Delaware LLC, in order to maintain charging order protection and/or anonymity, should it be a member-managed LLC, or a manager-managed LLC?
