We stayed here in July and loved it. The only "con" about this place was finding it. It was so tucked away that we walked by it several times.

It's a shame it's all sold out. I am going there next week for my upcoming birthday. If you want to visit during this time, I highly recommend booking it maybe one year ahead. Who knew it'd get this crazy with bookings. I've stayed there before and April seemed like a good time in terms of reservation freedom. If you guys could make more videos on onsen places all over Japan, that'd be so great ^^ Thanks!

Iam in a Ryokan in Hokkaido Furano right now. Best hotel experience ever. Old traditionelle japanese and iam lovin it. Huge bath, old japanese rooms , super super fri3ndly and helpful ect. I have only positive things to say. And service in dcm a japanese older married man helped me to make my scratch in my rented car disappear . Okay some japanese are not nice that i met . But most are toooooooo kind and friendly . I celebrate japan and japanese people. Much better than europeans. And iam european 😂 And the most beautiful girls are also here.

Just saw you guys on CKology. Good background info. I don't do Onsen or hot tubs. Allergic to hot water.😁

I'm surprised you don't do onsens! But then again, they aren't for everyone and the smell does bother some.

Great video! How many people can the Hakone taxi take? I have 2 adults and 3 teens

Hi, unless you can get a van taxi you will need two taxis.

Thank you guys!! I may book this for my trip in October! How many bath use reservations per room? We're traveling with 3 and one of us would prefer to bath alone
@KenshoQuest4 ай бұрын
At least two reservations per room. They may allow more if it’s not crowded. It helps to arrive early, so you have the most time slots available.

would it be difficult to communicate without knowing much japanese, including reserving the onsen time slot?
@KenshoQuest29 күн бұрын
Hi, at Ajisai they speak enough Japanese. Also, reserving is easy, just add your name to the time chart for the particular bath you want to reserve. It is in English among other languages.

Is it good to travel with family 1 and 3 year old?
@KenshoQuestАй бұрын
We’ve traveled to Japan many times while our kids are young. It’s a very family friendly country. We don’t use a stroller often, as it’s not convenient on trains and stairs. If you are asking about this specific Ryokan, yes, it’s a good option for families.

If i wanted to get to ajisai from osaka, what exactly should i do? Should i book one shinkansen ticket and juat change platforms, or do i have to book two? I'm confused by this, and i really want to visit ajisai onsen
@KenshoQuest3 ай бұрын
Hi. Ajisai Onsen is located in Hakone, near Tokyo. To get there from Osaka, you could take a Shinkansen from Shin-Osaka Station to Odawara Station. The Shinkansen train ride is 2 or 3 hours. From Odawara Station you can take a local train to Hakone-Yumoto Station. Then the Hakone Tozan Train to Gora Station. This would add another hour to the journey.
@vergilaj12133 ай бұрын
@KenshoQuest if i take the shinkansen i'll have to change platforms mid way. Does that mean i have to buy two shinkansen tickets or one is enough?
@KenshoQuest3 ай бұрын
Hi, can you tell me your route so we can check? You shouldn't have to change shinkansen platforms but if you are buy a journey that requires changing to a different class of train for example from a shinkansen to a local train then it is possible but you don't need to buy an additional ticket, it should be inclusive.

Can you book another cheaper hotel, but book a private onsen here?
@KenshoQuest2 ай бұрын
Hi. I believe the onsen baths at Ajisai are only for guests. Instead, you could visit Hakone Yuryo, which is a day spa onsen in Hakone. They have both pubic baths and private ones that you can reserve. Here's the website www.hakoneyuryo.jp/english/
@gowpow729 күн бұрын
If it is private can you still wear a bathing suit with your family if you want?
@KenshoQuest29 күн бұрын
Hi, I suggest you contact the onsen as each will have their own rules.
@dittohead74254 ай бұрын
Do they accept single travelers? I know some ryokans do not.
@KenshoQuest4 ай бұрын
Hi, don't know for sure but I doubt it would be an issue at Ajisai.

I remember as a kid visiting my mom's parents in Osaka in the early 70s, and they didn't really have a bath. The toilet was a hole in the floor like an outhouse. We would walk down the street in our yukatas and go to the public bathouse. When I go again next month, maybe I'll see if they still have public ones.
