2:44 image of the mask was supposed to be laid over a freeze frame of the wall here. Not sure why the freeze frame turned black, but unfortunately clearing the cache of the video project cleared a bunch of other stills so I cant really go back and fix it (I could I guess but it'd be annoying).

All of the stuff about the Stone Tower more or less lines up with my interpretation of where it came from and what it's supposed to be. However, another detail I noticed is regarding the effigy in the tower that resembles Majora's Mask when flipped upside down; it actually resembles the face of Majora's Wrath when you first enter the tower. As far as I know, this is the only bit of foreshadowing towards Majora's "true" form throughout the entire game, so I thought it might be worth mentioning when taking the origins of the tower and the mask into account. Another thing to note is that the portal to the desert dimension where Twinmold reside only opens up when the Stone Tower is flipped upside down. This could imply that the creators of the tower fell through the portal when the Goddesses flipped the tower, where they were condemned to forever wander the desert or were devoured by Twinmold, assuming they existed by that point. This also implies a connection between the creators of the Stone Tower and the Garo, as the Garo Master is found in the exact spot where the portal opens up upon entering the temple for the first time, suggesting that perhaps he could have found a way to escape from Twinmold's dimension. Just a thought.

Casting the builders of the tower into a world of permanent darkness seems like some sort of mythological punishment like the Titans being cast into Tartarus.

Love this theory. Makes much more sense that the Happy Mask Salesman found the mask in this shrine then somehow breaking into the temple when it takes so many individuals just to access it. That and King Ikana talks about somebody opening the temple recently, and it's implied that it was Skull Kid with the power of the mask. I would also like to add that I love that you mainly used N64 game play shots for this. It's a rarity now with any Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time videos.

One thing I want to bring up. There is very little history involving Majora in Termina, despite how powerful Majora is there is no legends of “Demon king Majora” or “God Majora” (Whatever it is) in Termina. All we get is the old kingdom where Majora was used and that the guardians protected the people from Majora once in the past. This combined with the fact that at least one of the portals to Hyrule was made by Majora’s power could mean that Majora could come from another world that we have yet to see.

fight a garo in mm and after that fight zant in tp the "boss room" of stone tower temple isn't a room, its a desert. lts not just like the one in twilight princess, it is the same one. every garo is one of the twili, but not every twili is a garo. for me it looks like garo are a special force of the twili. and all the twilight princess stuff, like this dark crystal thing you mentioned in your video tells me, that the twili have something to do with majoras mask itself. twinmold in mm, tons of moldorms in tp. even how they look is similar. the biggest difference is the size it is possible, that majoras mask was sealed at this place. nobody knows when the stone tower temple was made and who made it and who closed the door, we just know that the horror kid opened it and the war started.

I would actually argue that the Majora we see in the manga’s side story is more inspired by Indonesian lore than Chinese. The tale opens on candi bentar, or split gateway, which are definitive traits of temples, palaces, and cemeteries in Java, Bali and Lombok. I’d also say that Majora, both the creature and the mask, may incorporate elements of both Barong and Rangda, two mythical creatures of Balinese legend (not to say that creature Majora doesn’t also incorporate features of Chinese dragons or ‘lions’ too)

I like to think that the mask was always sealed away in the room where Twinmold is. Seems fitting since Ikana fell when the doors to the tower where opened, and that could have been Majora's power leaking out and affecting the area. Twinmold could have even been a guard to protect the mask from being stolen or something (and maybe the garo stole the mask in the first place). There's also the fact that the entrance to Twinmold's room is located in the sky, or when the tower is flipped, located on the floor, as if Majora is sealed down below in an area you can only go to by flipping the tower. So there's the high/low thing like heaven/hell going on with the tower. And perhaps the mask is weak by itself and requires a host to become more active, thus why Majora could not just break out of its containment and had to use Skull Kid and possess him in order to do all the things that it did.

The people who built those places were hinted at as being "ancient and warlike": the opposite of how the Zonai ended up being depicted in TOTK. @@MantisFight2TurboEdition Sadly, it won't. Aonuma supposedly had a horrible time developing the game, which is why it's so dark and nightmarish. The 1 year deadline led to the 3 Days deadline, and I guess he had nightmares about being chased by Deku Scrubs, which led to that becoming a scene.

@MantisFight2TurboEdition2 ай бұрын
I think that's a pretty dumb idea and not one that's especially engaging, so I don't really care to take it seriously even if it it's in Hyrule Historia. Robs the narrative of any meaningful impact.

@@MantisFight2TurboEdition I disagree, though I can concede that the idea of defeating the mask results in the deletion of Termina as a whole should have been present IN the game rather than being explained 20 years later in what is essentially a franchise bible. @@TheRealHoodedGeek I find the idea that Termina is just a fake place robs the story of it's value, since it's basically all dedicated to getting to know these people more intimately than they can ever know you. MM3D is just a remaster, not a remake. It's built on the entire game code from the N64 version. All Grezzo did was update visuals, minor gameplay changes, and (poorly) patch out some glitches from the original code. Grezzo did not build a game from scratch when nearly all the coding was already done for them. People have known this for almost a decade, it's not a secret. Use proper terms if you're going bother with a video.
