My husband and adopted my daughter 25 years ago. It was the best thing I ever did in my life. She's my love. I didn't have fertility problems but I did have family genes I didn't want to pass on. I did try donor eggs but by that time I was older and so was my uterus. I wanted to be a mom. If I hadn't I would now be one wretched old lady.

When you were showing your coneflower, you said, “is there a bug flying in front of me?”-that was a spider dangling on its web and then it retracted back up its web to the flower head. When you bring cut flowers from outside into the house, you always bring in a few critters as well!

Maggie you will know when the time is right to decide how you achieve your family. Only thing that would concern me is whether carrying your own child would aggravate your condition and make enjoying your baby more difficult once he/she is here, 🥰🥰

Infertility was just one more thing that cancer left in its wake, but I was lucky for once and IVF worked for me - even gave me an extra, lol. I don’t have any advice for anyone going through fertility treatments, other than an acknowledgment it can be pretty rough at times. The upside was pregnancy with an ostomy and disability was surprisingly easy for me, though.

Nurses need more training! my first nurse that i came across was in recovery from my surgery and she was you just peel and stick! What you mean its not sticking you just peel and push it on as it leeks all over me! Then they sent me home saying a nurse will come visit took days and she was shocked seeing that I didn’t have half the real supplies i needed. Yup it peel and stick all right.

In my 33 years of experience with fertility, I have decided just letting things happen and when I am ready is the best decision. 2 weeks ago, I ended up needing a hysterectomy and have birthed no kids. Had I decided that birth children would be the one thing that must do and that will make me happy would be a disservice to me. I would be mourning while in recovery. Fertility is not something that is guaranteed even though it seems like pregnancy is something that comes by pretty easy for us humans. About 7 years ago, I just sat back and decided to let things happen and here I am. I'm okay with it. May your fertility/parenting/whatever journey come gently to you and may you find peace with it.

Definitely sounds like you are having migraines. I suffer from them. The weather can trigger them & you are having rain. Be careful with Excedrine. I used to take that & it killed my stomach!! I am now on Aimovig monthly injection & if/when I do have a migraine I take Relpax (Eletriptan) or Nurtec. Both really help get rid of it within an hour. Love all the flowers!! Very pretty!! As for the baby, we adopted our second baby (first one is biologically ours). It wasn’t easy raising him. He had some genetic issues that we struggled with. He has recently been reunited with his biological family. We all have a great relationship with each other.

I was adopted too and it does make a difference. I still have holes in my identity at 43 I had absolutely no medical history til I was thirty seven and I am learning more from my family all of the time. Maybe you had a better experience than me, but did you have a full medical history? If you didn't it was because your legal guardians cared more about having guardianship over you than if you would survive or be able to have healthy babies of your own someday.

As a migraine sufferer for many years sadly I highly recommend getting an ice gel freezer pack that is sort of like a helmet ( best way I can describe it haha). My mom got one for me and it is so helpful and soothing. I tend to get migraines always behind my eye so gel ice masks are also good to try. Your meds/caffeine is also what I do to get relief. Hope you feel better soon! xo

A tip I was told was to only put a small amount of water in vases to cover the bottom of the stems. I think it’s todo less bacteria in the water, or whatever it is that kills flowers or is at least not good for them. Very pretty and amazing that they came from your garden.

Anaheim Pepper, are best on the grill and roast them...if you get adventurous, cut long ways,, clean scaping seeds out, use frozen grated cheese to, close them back up, then wrap with bacon, use toothpicks to keep it all together, them put them on the grill, turning as needed to crisp bacon. Sooooo, good, and take much of the heat out. But Don't us unfrozen cheese because the cheese will run out, got to be frozen cheese. Anaheim peppers make good pepper jam too, goggle recipe, then awesome to add to burgers, chicken, really anything😁

I've suffered severe migraines my whole life, needing a daily preventative for 30 years, plus strong treatment meds & frequent hospital stays. Here's a neurologist trick. I know you're a nurse so not trying to over-explain stuff you already know, but where migraines are caused by the blood vessels over-dilating, having caffeine (also in Excedrin) and sticking your limbs....hands, and feet if possible, in ice water, can help the blood vessels constrict, stopping the migraine. If I catch mine in time and it's not already pounding full blast, it helps my meds work better and stops some completely. When my daughter started getting severe migraines as well, this trick my neurologist taught me is how we treated hers until adulthood without having to give her prescription meds. Hope it helps, you or anyone else who may also suffer them.

I suffer from migraines. But take migraine meds. I am also a nurse and tell patients that the Best to make a headache diary. What you were doing/eating before headache, how long it lasted, where on head it was, and what you did to help it. For me ice packs help a lot, besides dark room. Then if you see how many have if worth talking to doc about specific meds to take as needed. As excedrin is good but may not be strong enough. For me I also take a naseua and even a dizzy med at times.

I've had migraines all my life, my mom, daughter and my male cousin (not as frequent in males) had 'em too. Sounds like mild migraine. Mine last 4 hours, mom's were for days. Nausea and light and sound sensitivity are migraine symptoms too. Aspirin isn't what works for me. I need a prescription. Well, I needed a prescription because I almost never get a migraine, just the aura now that I'm older. If you get the right stuff at the first sign of a headache you can short circuit the whole headache. I used to take Caffergot (caffeine and ergotamine) before the newer meds came out. Triggers can be individual but mine are bright lights and flickering or flashing lights. Some foods can do it too.

Found mine were hormonal driven. I had clusters and was hard to diagnose. There are different meds for different kinds. I rarely have now but do get aura if I do. Fennel tea actually works well reducing swelling. I drink the entire pot. Calms stomach too.
@helengarrett6378
@helengarrett6378 2 жыл бұрын
@@LetsTalkIBD You need a doctor's prescription because of 1. Stoma and 2. Appropriate diagnoses. Some of what helps is to track food, stress and other triggers. Mine are light. Intense light, reflected light off bodies of water, flickering light and strobe lights. Tension too. I got a doozy by holding in a sneeze. Now I let 'em rip! Make sure you are not having dehydration headaches. If no aura that might be your problem in hot weather. Not likely because you are so aware of your hydration needs, but keep track of your hydration anyhow. Feel better and stay quiet in a darkened room. Try to sleep it off. You can short circuit migraine by sleeping. Sometimes. New meds that I never took like Imetrex can be prescribed. Tylenol and NSAIDS don't get to the base cause of migraine. Also, I get slightly confused, you know, that head in a goldfish bowl feeling during and after a migraine. Often they are on one side or the other of the head. If yours are sinus, another possibility, then it will be more facial not so much throbbing on one side of head. You need a doctor if you keep having repeated headaches with imaging of the sinus surgery site to see if there is scar tissue blocking sinuses. Hope this helps.

You know i would be very curious to know how you would feel and talk about a life with child because oftentimes even on youtube from people that talk a lot deeply... i really think a picture is built that misses so much information. Our baby is 9 weeks now... i watched sooo many different people and i felt very bad at the start because pregnancy was not glorious... it was not ... that wonderful time some people are experience it and birth was not like that aswell. i had a lot of trouble connecting to the baby and feeling so lost and overwhelmed ... i learned a lot and i just want to say... IF it happens... and it does not feel like a miracle and wonder right away... its NORMAL and since this is a channel for honesty and the community here is great aswell: i wish more people would say that openly. Because NOW i know sooo many mums that struggled but before...none. It was all "oh, you feel bad? well it is part of that suck it up". And i dont think it has to be that way. It IS a world full of hurdles and if it DOES feel great and wonderful i congratulate you. and you know what...if it takes some time for it to happen... you live you wonderful life to the fullest because i miss parts of my life, i know it will get different and i will feel a different joy and all, but both lives, with and without the baby are worth it euqally i think. It made me look much more thankful for the time i got with my husband just the two of us, meeting friends and going out spontaneously... i enjoyed that very much. I am not english, i hope these sentences mmean the same thing i meant by it: It is not like you miss out... how should i explain, yes, some people wish deeply for children and they love it, but it is just as a real world full of problems and struggles like it is without. Not glorious and mysterious ... just...real. Does that help? Is that understandable? what i wanted to say was, if it happens i am very looking forward to your content because i value your information you share and i wish for you not only physical healt but also mental health because it is a load of stress on its own!

When it's time it will be time, kwim? I always wonder why fertility clinics don't suggest male testing first. It's the easiest thing to rule in/out and is sort a single screening if it indicates that a guy's count and motility is normal. If so, then a gal needs all the further evaluation. If not, both may have some factors.

Hey Maggie! I’m kind of late to commenting but wondering how you are with tracking your cycles? Have you confirmed whether you are ovulating? I know ovulation can be a challenge for those who struggle to keep their weight up. No need to answer but fertility specialists don’t always give the information necessary for basic fertility awareness. I was completely clueless about tracking my cycles until I started looking into it as a form of family planning.

None of my business but in regard to the infertility...have you considered IUI? Also sergacy...is an option. You could also consider foster care or respite care if that's something you could handle with your health. It would be a challenge but you could totally be a really kool foster mama or adoptive mama to a little one with chronic illness.

Having children is a huge amount of work. I had seven, love them all, but it took my health. I have an illy since and m.S. both came at once about age 32. I am 82 now and still struggle with the illy. Without medical I am sure there are better products. I too had migraines until about sixty yrs. Old. They suddenly went away. Advice….do not have more than one child as it will take all of your limited energy. For the first six years you have NO mommy time. Have you considered adopting a child age 3+? They desperately need homes and loving parents.

Mmm i love stuffed peppers. I've had a terrible headache today too. ugh TCC is overwhelming for sure. I'm already 38 and have to make that decision this year or next. Just don't know if I'm well enough.

On another note, I have trouble with chicory root and ingredient found in many things including tea and coffee. This ingredient sends my IBS into a full blown mess!! Cramping and diarrhea….

Hey Maggie! I just found your channel. You and Zak seem like an awesome couple!! On the topic of conceiving, would or have you ever considered a surrogate? I know this is a touchy subject but I’m just curious if that’s an option for you guys.

Your "crazy Friday night" sounds just like mine! Out of curiosity, are you able to drink alcohol? Or does it interfere with your stoma/ostomy etc.? I know you'd mentioned in the past that you had a family history with alcoholism but I'm just curious in terms of medically in regards to chrons

Have you run into any issues taking Zofran now that you’re on an SSRI? If so what do you take for nausea?

I actually don't use zofran often as it seems to be the least effective anti-nausea med! I usually take reglan or phenergan!

A surrogate is a much better option. Babies need to stay with their families due to personality being 40 percent genetic, and due to it being alot harder to have full medical histories and accurate documentation as an adoptee. I really would have rather been cut to pieces and vaccumed out of my mother than have been adopted as I was.
