Same with Poly Styrene imo, without both of them, there would be no riot grrrl, yet they are completely ignored and aren’t credited for their work.

#1 you are NeoX Racist. 2. Now it's your responsibility to do a Marion Elliot documentary. Marion Elliot being glossed over and ignored. These are obviously your opinions. Where do you get such information that you claim? Alternative Tentacles label promoted Marion Elliott, She/he/they/them/it got fired from the label for being disruptive and uncooperative within the product dev department. People that worked with her identified her as difficult to work with and tacky. You are probably young and just making assumptions about a artist legacy.

@@akatgif Lol, atlernative Tentacles. The same sad label that wheels out Biafra everytime there's a new single/LP being dropped to for marketing via clout chasing. Jello also used to screw over other acts in order to make money.

@@sickemgrrrl Marion Elliot and Poly Styrene are the same person:D "I chose the name Poly Styrene because I thought it was a send up of being a pop star. It's like a little figure, not me, being Poly Styrene, plastic, disposable. That's what "popstar" is sorta meant to me so therefore I might as well send it up" - from an interview in 1979:)

The problem with a musical "movement" that defines itself in exclusionary terms is that it inevitably runs afoul of the more radical voices that it first inspires. The revolution eats its own.

I really identify with the riot grrrl community because I think the movement was really cool but I also know that in all movements we need to make sure to include everyone no matter who they are as long as they stand for what we stand for
