I had been in Australia for 7 years and got talking to a fellow Brit who had just visited the UK after some years absence. I said I might go back next year for a holiday and see a few old mates . He laughed and said, "Don't bother , the blokes will all be sitting on the same bar stool , driving the same car , but they will have swapped girlfriends and wives." F me , when I went back a few months later, that's exactly what I found .

I can relate this to this sketch as people I have know from the past fit this stereotype to a T. Having worked in the in a street market in the sixties the characters the banter of those times are affectionately remembered.

Every town in the Uk has a character like the one Harry endfield is playing here. Funny enough the town were i live the guy that walks from pub to pub & bookies back to the pub again is actually called Davy too lol. He's obviously not doing that now with the lockdown but hes still in the town walking about the streets daily bless him lol
