Nah it looks like they just plotted a random subset of the GPS positions and made lines between them. So when there was an error for 1 second (cause of missing sats) it creates a line to that position and back. If it was properly filtered data you would see more than just straight lines.

When you're dealing with a neighborhood setting things can get quite interesting. Especially during the overnight hours. The cats in my neighborhood almost seem to trade homes when the sun goes down. They all know each other and they know who leaves food in the backyard and who doesn't. I'll see cats darting in and out all the time and then I'll see my cats 2-3 houses down. It's almost like they're one giant team and have laid out a map of the entire area. Of course raccoons and opossums can quickly ruin their plans.

One day I saw my neighbours coming home and my cat was instantly walking to their door and walked into their house. Apparently he then immediately walked into my neighbours kitchen and sat down in front of the fridge. Turned out he did this quite often and my neighbours used to buy bacon _exclusively_ for my cat. And a bit later I found out that my neighbours on the other side were _also_ doing that. And yes, he also visited the house on the other side of the street on his daily restaurant tour. My old cat went out and came back two weeks later and was very sick. He was crawling into our driveway with dialated pupils and was in pain. We called the vet who told us that he had consumed ratpoison, probably after eating a rat with it. We had to put him down then and there. So please, if you want to get rid of rats or mice in your house, do not use these chemicals - they will also affect the other animals..

it's not sold to lightly in CA. it used to be in powder and or liquid (still is) due to its misuse on spouses or animals for alternative selfish methods of gain. you can still find it of course , this time a list is kept incase of suspicious people are in question of a 1st degree murder by use of poison for an alternative methods. rat poison is very hard to detect when administered in food or drink. rat poison doesn't have an oder or taste once put into food or drinks. now you need to be lic or certificated (exterminator ) to purchase poison. then your name and lic certificate # is kept on a list with information of date , time , form of pmt , and method of use in case Law enforcement is in questions of a person's credibility of possible mis use of the product with intentions of malice or death.

+Cherizard As someone who works in the pest control industry I've had many concerned customers worried about their cats, I've personally talked to Chemist that work for companies who make rodenticide, I was told that it would take a good amount of rodenticide to kill a domesticated cat. They said it would take more than a few poisoned rats to kill a cat.(This conversion was about the most common used rodenticide Contrac block and pellet poison). I was also told that it depends on the cat, a feral cat that isn't well feed is more susceptible to poison. I'm curious to know if the vet tested your cat or that was just their best guess? Antifreeze poisoning is another possibility.

The vet didn't really have the time to test him, since he was very close to death anyway, but the vet had experience with cats getting ill from rat poison before, so she could easily tell what was wrong. Btw, I live in Denmark and it was 6 years ago, so I don't remember remember everything in detail. I didn't speak with the vet, my mother did - I just found him struggling on his way home.

One of my cats would go in sewers, he brought a huge sewer rat home once. Disgusting. He would also get into people's houses and they wouldn't even know until he would walk up to them. We used to joke around that he was a car mechanic because he would always have car grease on him. He disappeared September 2014, 2 weeks after we had to put my dog down. I still hope he will show up, but there is a very small chance, or I hope he's living the good life with someone else. Or he went quick. He didn't suffer.

One time a long time before one of my cats was going to different houses un-known to us for multiple days at a times and at later times found that he had multiple names in other households. And we did once have to buy our cat back from a pet shop that we couldn’t find for a month.

One of my cats lost her vision at about three years of age and she gets around so well still it’s hard to tell she’s blind. Her gate is much slower and each step is calculated but she still gets around with ease. She always knows where she is in the house and knows how far away from stationary objects like the bedroom and living room furniture. It’s quite astonishing to see her navigate the house and backyard so well.

Sorry, but absolutely wrong. When I was little we had a cat and a dog. Whenever I went out with the dog, into the woods, the cat followed us for like a mile before it went back. It just walked a little besides us or behind us. Sometimes it even waited there (a mile from our house) for us to come back and travel back with us. A couple years later we had annother cat. We were camping out in our neighbours garden like 3 houses down the street. My cat meowth until I finally let it into the tent and it could sleep inside the tent with me (: Cats are a lot more independent than dogs, but they are still very attached to their people.

My cat did the same thing. We let him out one day and he went off outside, and he did not come back by the next day, so I started to worry. About 3 weeks later, I drove by my old house (Was about 1 - 2 miles away), and there he was on the porch, pawing against the door. Fortunately, since I just moved out of that house, no one was living there, but I found it astonishing how he got there over those 3 weeks. He must have been fed by someone, or caught his own food. Amazing.

i want 2 of these trackers for my cats, we adopted them when we were in L.A they were gonna put them to sleep the last owner didn't want to take them to where he moved to he said they'd get eaten by coyotes. So we adopted them while living in L.A and we moved out here to the valley. we let them out sometimes but we have to watch them. Id like to get 2 of these tracking devices incase they wonder off like one of them did last night, almost gave me a heart attack!!! he was 2 houses away in a back yard where somehow the dogs didn't hear him THANK GOD! Gino Punsalan OMG that does not make ur cat sleepy or boring, the vet's have learned as has a lot of cat/pet owner's that fixing ur animals helps it stay healthy less chances 4 cancers so they r living longer, n the younger it is when fixed the less likely it is 2 wander/stray far from home if it even wants out at all, but as far as energy I've never noticed a difference after the 3rd or 4th day after surgery wen the pain goes away, I think that's just a convenient excuse 4 u bcuz 4 some reason guy's do not like getting their male pet's fixed, so ok keep him intact let him continue producing unwanted kitten's, personally I feel that the people that don't get their pet's fixed shuld have 2 keep the offspring themselves, of course they can split them with the other parent pet's owner since both were not responsible enuf 2 get their pet's fixed, also chance shortening his life by way of diseases or possibly getting hit by a car or falling into a young psychopath in the making while it's out cruising the hood hooking up with the intact females, which 4 the most part r strays/ferals that carry diseases, but hey guess either way he dies with his balls bcuz after all that's important, no wonder this country is messed up with ignorance running rampant unnecessarily it just boggles my mind......... 😕😿✌ Peace

I would LOVE to participate in this data tracking experiment! I have three cats, which I prefer to be strictly indoors for exactly the reasons mentioned in this video (danger to pets and local wildlife) but one of them was semi-feral when I got him and a couple years ago he literally began pushing out window screens to escape outdoors. I finally had to concede that he needs to be indoor/outdoor to be truly happy so he goes out most days when I leave for work and comes home when I return. I know a few of the neighborhood homes he visits and introduced myself so the neighbors know who to contact if he causes trouble, but I'd love to see the extent of his travels!!
