According to google, Gangseo is the most dangerous district in Seoul, with the highest murder rates in the city. I went to investigate. First thing I found were old people drinking dirt, and a woman who didn't know the age of her daughters and seemed to be offering them to me. I then had a Korean Spanish conversation outside a coffee shop and discovered an abandoned military base. Strange day. #Seoul #Southkorea #travel

Those busdrivers and the coffee lady seem very genuinely fun people. Other than that, it is of course a rather compliated question to ask people in that area if its dangerous. They will probably see it like : " Hey, do you live in a piece of s*** part of town?" which can of course be a rather embarrasing question.

Kangseo Gu, which i used to live, was and is the poorest area in Seoul mainly because of lots of noises from many air planes. But it doesn't mean that it's dangerous. It's a part of Seoul and you know Seoul is one of the safest cities in the world.

As a Korean, Im sorry to see that you tried to give those people some snack (약과) in the streets. but they seemed quite doubtful about it and didn't take your little present. Because, usually people in Korea are educated not to get/take something from someone who they never met before. It is also because of the rate of increase for kidnapping, abduction, and all that kind of criminals. I hope you take it as a good refusal in a humble way. Old Seoul and people of it is my soft spot too. I was there earlier this year but i will come back next year. Really love your videos and this channel! I picked a random area for our month long trip there and i really fell in love with the place. I also visited the usual tourist spots etc but i have to say that places like itaewon i found absolutely unappealing and left there in like one hour lol. I hope old Seoul will survive in some way. My new friends there keep up the old school lifestyle even tho they are pretty young themself too. Keep going man 👍

The most dangerous place in Seoul is 대림역 darim station. Few Chinese immigrants are living there. They have a bad temper, and the fight can escalate quickly. The most dangerous place in korea is 전라도 신안 which is located isolated island. Few people are forced to work as salt miners.

When I go to Seoul, I stayed not far from those areas, but I don't feel like they are rough areas, or unless you purposely seek out troubles. I just think sometimes the online "claims" can be kinda misleading, and over-exaggerated, they could be articles just hoping to attract you to read them, or simply click bait. Also when the lady sold you the cake, it is consider impolite and almost inappropriate to take it back, even as a gift.

speaking of teas and healthy drinks. Ive been drinking this GOAT JUICE, you can get in packets. They also sell the Goat soup in markets. Supposed to be healthy for the body. The tastes is closest to Prune Juice., only worse. LOL.
