Dan I've been watching your videos from back in the pandemic and have never commented but this video tipped me over the edge. My wife and I have visited Korea six times, have been doing korean lessons with a tutor for nearly 12 months and will be back in 한국 in October this year with plans to relocate permanently there within the next 5 years. Your philosophy and way you capture the true essence of Korean culture and its wonderful people is truly inspiring. It's the Korea that we also fell in love with Dan, not aesthetic cafes or instagram spots but instead the local spots filled with some of the world's most interesting and warm people....food and drinks not too shabby either. Keep uo the incredible work.

1:54 Hahaha, the comedic timing was great. I love situations like this in language learning though. At a point you reach this early intermediate level which sort of puts you in this no-man's land when it comes to interacting in authentic situations. You know enough to give the locals the impression that you can follow what they're talking about, but in reality you're not yet at a level to take everything they throw at you - leading to some real "deer caught in the headlights" moments. It's happened to me on numerous occasions too. Good on you keeping this in and showing your vulnerabilty. Shows that you don't take yourself too seriously and that you're open minded - as if your videos hasn't clearly showed that enough. Looking forward to Dobong-gu next week.

20:07 전태일 평화 시장. 전태일 A laborer and labor activist in South Korea, he started working at a sewing factory in the late 1960s in a market known as the 'Peaceful Market.' From 1970 onwards, he worked as a foundation worker and dedicated himself to advocating for workers' rights. Seeking to raise awareness about the harsh labor conditions, he demanded adherence to labor standards from the Park Chung-hee government and capitalist enterprises. However, during a protest, he tragically self-immolated by dousing himself with gasoline and setting himself on fire along with the Labor Standards Act, ending his life at the young age of 22.

If you look a few seconds earlier, she has her bank account information posted on the upper right. So he used a banking app to transfer her the money.
