Wish you both good luck 🍀 I’ve two observations in your video, 1.structure of the old toilet roof not strong enough for 2000L water tank. 2.never closed the lid while you boiling manioc, it’s contained cyanide which is a poison.. but cyanide evaporates when it’s boiling.. Yes, the roof and the walls of the toilet may not be able to withstand the weight of the water tank plus 2000 Lt of water. Trust they would find a better way to accommodate the water tank. Keeping it on bare soil is also not a good idea, since, with the weight of the water, the bottom of the tank could gradually cave in sink into earth and then crack. It will need to be kept on a solid concrete platform. I am sure Lahiru would work out something.

It is highly doubtful that the walls of that bathroom could withstand the heavy weight of the tank full of 2000 leters of water as the wall are old and deteriorating. Therefore make sure not to fill it completely. Only half a tank will be very safe. 2000 Leters = 2000Kg. Its a quite heavy weight. Take care.

Doesn’t it come from a main line? Hope you’d find a nice spring somewhere in your garden so that it’ll be possible to pump water for usage. Good luck with your planting and hope the locals will show some mercy and leave your pineapple saplings alone. So happy there is a water tank and Lahiru is right. You should have your water tank at a safe place. Keep going you two! Many rural places in Sri Lanka, the main water line gets turned off. I’m not sure why. But we should be able to have water when we get the tank plumbed in 😊 thank you for your support ❤️

They dont depend on the government but following the law and order . I am not not into politics at all. We got to do what we have to. When I said these two are very good example to all of us including myself even though I don't live there, just see two different colors, nationality, religion but working hard towards their future. I know Sri Lankan people work very hard no doubt about that.

Wow you two have been working hard. Am a bit worried about putting that enormous water tank on top of that old shed roof. When full that tank will weigh a ton and the roof could collapse. Would it not be better having the tank at ground level or build into the ground a bit higher up rather than being on a roof?

We have the same thought! Before, we have a 1000L tank on there and there was no problem, but this is double the size!! We plan to move it further up the land which would also give us better water pressure, but lahiru is worried it won’t be safe up there without the boundary covered. We’ll see, we haven’t yet got it plumbed in so there’s time to change our minds 😛

It will need to be placed on a solid concrete slab built on the ground at a higher level in your garden. I am sure Lahiru and you will do something good.
