I keep coming back to this video. I was seven at Mars Argo's height in 2009 and only found their music after they broke up. I instantly felt nostalgic. Their style encapsulates the time period so well- seemingly carefree and bright but intuitively disturbing and dark. It reflects my experience growing up middle class during the US financial recession: celebrity gossip magazines, Tumblr alt culture's rise, and stressed parents. Passionate, churning feelings of dread, confusion, and excitement in the air obscured by being too young to understand. I could only observe from the outside, drift, and wait. This roadtrip video reminds me of staring out the car window while my parents yelled at eachother. I was amazed by the endless city lights in rural America, a longing for something profound to emerge from within the emptiness. My belief in fairies and magic crumbled. Watching Mars Argo today seems to offer a chance to finally comprehend the mysterious feelings from my childhood through the catharsis of potently experiencing what I couldn't then. I say "seems" because, upon writing this, I realized that, if anything, reviewing their content only exaggerates the aforementioned feelings I had as a child. I am still only watching, afterall. I am resentful that I will never expirence the kind of love I craved at seven. Companionship that created beauty from the pain, like Mars Argo. So, I keep coming back to this video.

Theory!: So my theory on what happened with them is that they both loved doing and making music especially with each other they started a band and fell in love... that is until one day the girl moved on I say she moved on/ broke up with him because of the song he wrote maybe they got into a argument he called her a daddy's girl she said mean thugs back broke up that way i don't know either way they're romantic relationship ended one day he was on KZbin found a girl and wanted to work with her he hit her up and she agreed because she might of listened to Mars Argo or just his music again either way she could o been a fan they started working together as they wanted something different someone who was unknown and could make a message then came Poppy. Mars Argo has a video called delete your Facebook and not so coincidentally Poppy has a video about Facebook too!(he must really dislike Facebook) that's my theory on how Mars Argo ended and Poppy came to be. There is no need for theories, dig deeper. Most of the facts are already there. Dont listen to the Conspiracy theory channels. they dont know what theyre talking about 1) The Poppy Project started while Mars and Sinclair were still working together, hence no. 2) According to alot of KZbin comments from people who know their stuff, mars and Titanic was in a rather toxic relationship. Some claim Titanic was emotionally abusing Mars, and that Mars stole ad renevue. 3) I am pretty sure Poppy didnt have a KZbin channel Before. She got the nickname (?) "Poppy" while she worked with Sinclair, hence no, Titanic did not find her through facebook
