Hi Glenn, thanks very much for your comment! I'll have four more videos over the coming weeks. It is a beautiful place, isn't it. I'm quite glad I didn't go to the Lake District, which would've been much busier. All the best and thanks for watching.

Thanks, Martin. Weather was very good all week. Wind speed soon picked up (as you'll see in future videos) but there was hardly any rain. Clear views on all but one day... ;-) All the best and thanks for watching.

Fair play Olly I also live in Somerset and the idea of jumping in the car and heading up north is a bit daunting. Well done mate it looks like s lovely area. I like the man made paths aswell a great idea when you have miles to cover 👍 Looking forward to more 😃

Thanks, Dean. I've always felt the same. It is a long drive up the M5 and M6. But I've been to the Peak District three times and it didn't seem much further. I've also been to Snowdonia, which was a similar journey time but less motorway. One day, I'll get to the Lake District! I was blown away by the scale of the place! Those man made paths save a lot of wear and tear. My next walk was very much more off-piste. ;-) Thanks for watching and all the best.

Completely agree with your sentiment about not cramming too much in! It's tempting to say "I must do that while I'm here" but I'm definitely in the camp of taking it a little steadier and enjoying what you're doing. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, Steph. I've had trips where I cram lots in and others where I don't. I think I was 'more keen' in the beginning and that I've learnt from experience that the hills won't go away. Thanks for watching, for your comment and all the best. I think I read that you have another video up so, I'll have to take a look.

Excellent walk Olly in fine conditions. I thought your narration was really good and varied on this. You walked me through nicely. It does look impressive. Yes, I can see the Beacons and the Berwyns in there. But that vast moorland below reminded me of Rannoch Moor it was that big. I bet you came back down buzzing. Good going. Mark

Thanks, Mark. There will be more moorland in some of my upcoming videos. Miles upon miles of it up there. Cities are towns remain out of sight. In a way, I felt more confident being away from home than I might have been locally and walking around somewhere I know. Thanks for watching, Mark and all the best.

@@WalksWithOlly A pleasure Olly. Hey I look forward to them moorland videos. It just reminded me to of the Cambrians. I love that remoteness. Good to hear you were in the zone mate. Peace.

Thanks, Si. It's a very well used route - a part of it heading up to Ingleborough has been diverted due to erosion. It was generally easy to find my way around on most of the walks I did. It's not quite as 'wild' as Dartmoor but up on the hills and fells, you can look around and lose sight of civillisation. Thanks for watching and all the best.

Thanks, Anthony! It was the first of several great walks and, given time, I know I could've found others. I hope you get to visit yourself one day. I found it mindblowing just how isolated some parts of the Dales can feel. Not a city or town to be seen for miles! All the best and thanks for watching.

Sounds like a plan, Nick. Plenty of wild camping opportunities. I'm surprised we don't see more KZbinrs about there (I don't see as many as, say, the Peak District). Best make a long weekend of it - if not a full week. ;-) Thanks for watching and all the best.

This is the only one of the 3 Peaks I have ever done, always meant to do the others, just never got around to it. Looks like you have struck on some good weather and nice to get the hard work out of the way first. Good clear pat to follow and you can see why you need it with all those boggy fells. I was going to do the the 3 peaks challenge with the Tiffin Trotters walking group (15 years ago) after our training hike up Whernside the previous week but I came down with a heavy cold, so missed out but they all said - Never Again! Nice first day to your holiday, cheers Alan

Hi Alan, Ah, well, I hope you do get to the other two at some point. If I had to choose, I'd say Ingleborough is my favourite. It's a very busy route and I dread to think what the landscape would look like without those paths. A great day, indeed and nothing more than a breeze to be felt. I'll have the next video soon. I was hoping it would be up by now but I've not put the time towards editing. My next walk followed lesser trodden ways, often far from the path... All the best and thanks for watching.

Olly, it is really fantastic looking walking country. A cool looking campsite and base for your time in the Dales and that weather🌞 Agree with you that it can be much better to take time with mountains rather than cram them all together. The viaduct is super impressive and just adds to an already great walk 😊

Thanks, Marek and well spotted! I did notice that I'd lost it on this walk and forgot to mention it to you. A lot of people walk that route... There's a good chance someone has found it! I don't think I touched the trig point up there so, I really need to go back at some point! Thanks for watching and all the best.

Hi Olly, Good walk. It's funny how politicians love to get their name on large projects. HS2 for example.

@WalksWithOlly 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Will, it's good to hear from you. I'd like to suggest that HS2 has been 'forgotten' with all else that's going on. But I'll be it's fresh in the minds of those who would be affected by it. Thanks for watching and hope you're doing well.

Great stuff, looks so peaceful and tranquil. I've never been to Yorkshire Dales , but would like to one day. How are your boots now?

Thanks, Shirley. I hope you do get up there at some point. I think a lot of people still bypass it in favour of the Lakes or Scotland. My boots are wearing in much better now, thank you. No great discomfort from this trip. Although I gave them a very good clean afterwards! ;-) All the best and thanks for watching.
