62 year old here and, I agree, this gentleman is indeed a beast. It gets a LOT harder every year to stay at that level of fitness, strength and musculature. I was natural until I turned 60. Now I'm on TRT (100mg every 5 days). That was obviously a game changer for me. I've been around a lot of 'jacked' older guys that I know are not natural but this guy gives me the sense He Is Natural. He just looks to be a freak of nature. Yes, he is indeed inspirational. Thank You Zack for this. It's cool to have us Old Guys represented.

Why does that make it irrelevant? People want to do know what is achievable naturally. Yes, he has a good work ethic. Yes, he takes care of himself. But could he look like that without juice? Could any of us look like that at his age without juice? That's what people are interested in.

My old powerlifting and weightlifting coach was like this guy. He was in his mid to late 70s back in 1998, amazing physique, better posture than a man a quarter of his age. He used to spot people on heavy bench and squats and his wrestling background meant he could put you on your back in the blink of an eye. If you devote your whole life to physical exercise and effort you will always have strong thick muscle fibers and tendons that will take alot longer to deteriaorate than a less active person. Ron sadly passed a couple of years ago and he was still working out well into his 90s. A true mountain of a man and a great mentor.

My dad is 63 and also brutally ripped and literally chiseled, always had a good foundation has basically been doing all kinds of different sports from Karate to Bodybuilding to Mountain-Biking which has been his favorite leisure activity for the past 20 years or so (besides sometimes touching a barbell here and there or mountainclimbing, ski-touring etc) but I think the physique which this dude has is absolutely possible to achieve and maintain. Dude kicks ass! Motivated me to switch my alarm clock timer to go for the 7h sleep instead the 9h sleep so I can get a fancy morning session in which gives me the opportunity to perform two training sessions throughout the day. That's a fine specimen hell yes.

Speaking as a former wrestler, there is an absolute chance he’s natural. It is by far the most physically demanding sport I’ve ever been a part of. I didn’t do anything special in high school and I was pretty jacked and I wasn’t even that great of a lifter. In fact I was pretty terrible with my strength training however just like BBJ, wrestling requires high intensity general athleticism.
@anthonymarconi7612 жыл бұрын
totally agreed. I actually have no doubt he's natural. I lived with my grandpa who's been a bodybuilder all his life. He was born in 1927, and I could see all he ate all day, to him whey protein was already doping (old school, different times). I kid you not, he looked like this guy - even buffer - entering into his 80s before he quit training to take care of my dying grandma. If I had not seen it with my own eyes it would be hard to believe, but I had an example of utter dedication and disciplined life each day, so now I just can't ignore such people do exist and they are not all on the juice.

This dude is an absolute inspiration and exactly the kind of guy I wanna be when I'm old. Legit that is part of my reasoning for working out, so that when I'm old I'll still have function of my body. Straight up this dude is living the lifestyle. Note on the diet thing. As someone that has always been big, has worked out my whole life, but am only now really actually trying to put on muscle mass now that in a sumo wrestler. I legit was raised on the worst diet imaginable. Instant dinners, fast food, and junk food. Literally there wasn't fruit, veggies, etc in the house until I got into working out. So I'm in the crowd that knows dick all about how to get the right macros. However, the change that started me actually gaining muscle and losing weight was by getting enough food. I started not caring about how much I ate and just deemed it a case that you can eat as much as you want as long as you put in the work. And yeah, I started eating healthier and healthier and was eating as much as I wanted. Because I would figure out by trial and error what was worth eating and what wasn't. Of course I knew I needed to get protein, but slowly but surely things like eating a whole bag of chips just seemed disgusting. All the lazy ways I would eat food just seemed disgusting. I started wanting to actually cook dishes myself. So yeah, even those with no understanding of proper diet because they've been on the most unhealthy one possible can get amazing results from just enjoying yourself with eating. Like nowadays I physically can't stomach the kinds of over the top dishes I used to order at restaurants. At the restaurant I work at we sell burgers that are 1/4 lb and 1/2lb. I used to only buy the 1/2lb burgers and would voraciously down it. Now I can't stomach even half it. The issue was that I would not eat for long stretches, then gorge myself. Because I was just that lazy. I was working out but my literal thought process revolved around avoiding doing work as much as possible. So the effort it would take to get food was too much until I was literally starving, and then I'd end up downing like 3000 calories in one go. All this was probably due to being addicted to games, KZbin, and in my adult life weed. Every waking hour was spent on games and KZbin, the working out would be impulse for the longest time until I started doing penance sets. IE I would play a game or watch an episode then go do a set. If it wasn't for getting obssessed with strength and working out I would still be spending 10 hours a day on games everyday and literally accomplishing nothing with my life. I'm still trying to cut out KZbin. And internet cleanses have been the best way of doing so. I guess my reasoning for typing all this out is to give you the other side of it. Whereas you are the guy that was sports obsessed from the beginning, I'm the type that was literally disgusted by sports because I was so distracted by games. But then fell in love with them due to my love of fighting. (And when I say I hated sports it was bad, like I made a distinction at one point that combat sports athletes wouldn't fair good in actual fights. Because I scoffed at the restrictions and padded gloves. I was a fucking moron that hadn't put in the work. I didn't realize that once you are a trained fighter you are on such a high level compared to normal people that you don't even risk fighting untrained people for fear of killing them.)

Lifted weights 3 days a week during his lunch break, ran before work, grappled almost every day, and had a small farm (he raised horses). Stuck to a pretty strict diet, and supplemented with protein shakes (he actually taught me how to make them). He told me he had stuck to some kind of a regiment since he was 12 or so. I would say it is most likely he is natty. Back in Nepal, I had a great-granduncle who at 71 would carry the 100kg rice bags up the hills(about 1km above sea level) to his home. He was a former Gurkha and was ripped and muscular till his death. My own granddad before he lost nerves in his leg was a beast. He could do 24 chin-ups Gurkha standard and would do hundreds of push-ups as he retired when he was like 56. Even at 76 years of age, he still has a built body even though he can't exercise as much. I have met many Gurkhas who are ripped even in their 50s as they have maintained a good training regime. In the military, they need to be able to hexbar deadlift 300lbs for at least 3 reps.

IMO, his natty claim is likely true. When he finished the marathon and was standing next to the man in the suit, you could see that he's not that big. We all know that a pound of muscle on a lean physique looks like five pounds, and he looks like he's relatively short, and that also makes each pound of muscle look like more.

I think he might actually be natural considering he worked out his whole life and is eating well The physique is impressive for his age but not so crazy that one would say that it is impossible However i think the numbers he claims to be doing especially on pullups are just not right There is no way he is doing 700+ pullups/hour and 40 pullups with 18kg seeing the pullups he did For the SBD numbers i would say maybe but form/depth is still a question The most believable claim is the 100k run He is still strong dont get me wrong but not as strong as he claims I just think that his numbers might be inflated and or are numbers he used to do at one point All things said i still gotta tip my hat to this guy I think that the combination of physical activity he is doing is the pinnacle for training He is doing the best of everything that every man should do Deadlifts pullups Squats Bench/pushups Kettlebell exercises Running And some martial art/combat sport

Now he's definitely impressive in all of those areas! 100% the man's a beast! But there's just nothing about him that would suggest steroid use taking anyone of those things into account. Look at the guys from the pre steroid era, Arthur Saxon, Herman Goerner, George Hackenschimidt. George specifically was huge, strong as a bull and could wrestle in a single match for hours. I say hes natural, just a man that loves training, built a great body young and has kept it because he just never stopped demanding of his body that it stay the way it is.

I sincerely think he's natty. He may look peeled but his shoulders and neck do not look out of this world.

Your cells&DNA are also in constant decay so protein helps maintain that, carbs too

it is hilarious how quickly people scream not natty nowadays - this guy probably did his fair share of manual labor growing up. Genetically gifted and hard working - doing tons of volume in particular - will make you jacked and look great. edit: forgot to mention how the food is likely more quality where this man is

That diffidence comes from there being a LOT of enhanced athletes / bodybuilders who claim natty. In those cases, it's mostly because they depend on income from natty clients and they think, maybe correctly, that they have more selling points if their natty clients believe they can achieve their enhanced physique. It wouldn't make a lot of sense for someone like this guy to lie though.

You guys also need to understand these people, eastern Europeans of that generation cook their food. No, they don't buy shitty ready meals full of sauce and rice. I'm talking real food from dawn to dusk. Meats of all sorts. I played rugby with that generation and we all were always wondering HOW THE HELL THESE GUYS(POLAND) STILL PLAY IN THEIR LATE 40TIES when us, in our twenties had torn shoulders and ligaments. Hard work from young age and consistent approach with the whole culture surrounding physicality. Also humble take on performance and PRs. Feel good and set no goals, just train for day to day aspects of life.

Ye mate pull ups certainly do be the finest upper body exercise. I did a 30 day 200 pull ups a day challenge a while back and I must say my back and arms got very swole

Weighted pull ups and chins, along with dips will do absolutely wonders for the upper body; couple that with the thick handle of the kettlebell, for high rep work with heavy weight, swings, presses, and you get what pavel calls the “what the hell effect,” where everything just seems to improve and get better. This is how I train, basic compound lifts, but a focus on unconventional aspects for accessory work; Manila rope climbs in the backyard, gymnast rings, macebell swings, kettlebells, sledgehammer forearm work. Builds myofibrilar hypertrophy, which is what you see with this dude, a muscle density, versus western sarcoplasmic hypertrophy, which is just water retention in the muscle which does not carry the same aesthetic. Loaded carries with odd implements, kettlebells intelligently programmed, solid diet, this is completely doable, just can’t be nonsense isolation and machine aesthetic muscle aspects; gotta be integrated and always using compound approaches to muscularity whenever possible.
