Just found your videos. Looking forward to watching some of the series. I've been thinking about a Meridian 391, but single-handing it seems like it could be a problem 🤔. Interested to see your journey and how you handle it.
@CaptainMike19658 ай бұрын
Yes, that could be a challenge, are you experienced on that size vessel? Shoot me a email to mike@michaeljaysteen.com and lets chat about what you are planning. I am looking for someone to bring on one of my livestreams that is thinking about doing the loop. Many people will have the same questions you have.

Nice video dude! It's cool to watch the trip from both perspectives. It's still probably a couple years away for me, but yours and Marty's videos (as well as others on KZbin) have really helped bring my wife on board for doing the same thing one day! I'll be watching and hopefully be able to meet up in MD this summer. Cheers

Mike, Actually I think its kinda cool that the videos for the Loop are delayed. Its almost like a suspense novel, what happened between the points, then these videos feel in the details. I dont good hooked very easily on stuff, ie: tv shows and such, but yours a Zoffingers videos and just the adventure is amazing and you are both doing a great job at capturing the experience. So hope I can meet up with you both as you make way up through NC coast. And a awesome coast it is cant wait for ya'll to get up here. Take care safe travels!! BTW I am still watching this video while typing, and just wanted to say you did an awesome job editing this video, really liked the talking with Marty over the radio... shows the fun you guys are having. Thanks so much Mike! Tell Marty I said Hello. -Ken

You guys are running the loop slow. I started from Jax a month ago and we are rounding Cape May, NJ tomorrow. 800 miles of the 6,000 completed! We are only doing 40 miles per day about 4 or 5 days per week. Beautiful trip so far. I guess y'all are not doing it all this year?
@CaptainMike19653 жыл бұрын
Yes we are doing it different for sure, in many ways. I don't think I would like doing it that fast. For me it is more about the trip than the destination. Probably 3 years in total as I plan to winter one season in the Tennessee River.

Great video! Congrats on the first of the series. That dock, original site, had some great potential. Hated to see that go, but life always happens. Been following Marty for years, been really enjoying y’all’s trip and the combo y’all have together. I’ve been bouncing back and forth with this, but in the light of the series release!!! I’m not really in a spot to do the mug club thing yet (family budget and kids that like to eat a lot!), but a captain needs a good logbook. Thinking I could do another, any thoughts on a design?
@CaptainMike19653 жыл бұрын
Something with Good Times Logo I would think and What's around the bend?
@carneraerial3 жыл бұрын
@@CaptainMike1965 I’ve had that thought, makes perfect sense of course, but all the thin lines don’t leave much for the leather tooling. Not sure if I could make it work without just a pre-made stamp, and I don’t want to alter anyones logo of course. I’ve been keeping an eye out on the videos for something that I thought would be cool and work well...

What sources did you use to plot your stops?
@CaptainMike19652 жыл бұрын
Katrina, I used a host of things. First I always looked for free dockage and if we needed fuel that would factor in. Google Earth is amazing at seeing what is around where you plan to stop. Also we anchored most of the time and dingy to shore. Are you dong the loop and planning? This would actually make for a great video.
