Which?: 2009 Honda Insight hybrid first drive test

Had my 2009 insight for 5 years super reliable! also had a 2002 Toyota prius, the Honda has a major advantage over the prius, if the battery goes out on a prius the car is very hard to drive, the insight will drive okay.

We own a 2013 Insight EX which we brought new. Currently we have 94600 miles on the odometer. Both front airbags have been replaced under warranty but the car has been reliable and on the highway going 65 MPH we average 45-50 miles per gallon or 3.8 liters of fuel. Believe it or not but that is considered exceptional by USA standards. Be careful if you buy 2013-2014 models and they were built with engine components that don’t last and ours is currently warranted for a oil burning issue on our 2013. Pre 2013 insights should not have this oil burning issue. We are currently burning 2 quarts of 0W20 synthetic oil every 3000 miles. Honda will only replace the motor if we are burning 1 quart per 1000 miles. It is a bit frustrating.

@@palmwaytech I never was a fan of the split rear window and the c pillar makes for a nasty blind spot with no backup camera
