@@thepadster123 For price to performance, LG 42 in C series really the best overall. I really don't understand why LG don't even want stick with LG OLED TV specs especially on the coating. LG OLED glossy coating is actually one of the best anti-glare performance in the world. And they decided to make matte finish on their new monitors line up. I personally may not too annoyed with matte coating, but as Im using C1 as my monitor now, I definitely will still much prefer glossy finish. QD-OLED itself regardless either glossy or matte coating, the blacks under ambient light is really bad. The reason go for OLED is of course due to unbeatable contrast ratio in HDR. If the true black for QD-OLED require very low light environment , its really a dealbreaker for me.

I love glossy and what's surprising is the hate I get for it. People hate that I like glossy screens. Matte coating did get better on last few monitors but the 3m usual coatings was AWFUL forever. As a general rule, matte coating absorbs the light and diffuses it. So sharp reflections get bigger and dimmer but also make bigger area on the screen greyt. While glossy is more mirror like but black is black, nothing disrupts sharpness and colors of the screen. There are different glossy coatings. I have great experience with lg oled tvs like lg c1 and the glossy coating on it makes the reflections MUCH dimmer and non intrusive. When I sit in my living room in the evening, I don't see any reflections even on black background. Now, I don't know how asus glossy compares to lg glossy. But at 2:46 if you pause with reflection of the ceiling lamp seen on both screens, you can see the matter on the right, the reflection is actually just bigger and imo way more distracting.

Atleast we all agree on one thing, that is LG one looks so damn good, the lack of branding, the stand just perfect.
@Echoes_of_Inquiry6 ай бұрын
Matte finishes degrade color vibrancy, so I'd advise against promoting them. Most of us prefer glossy or traditional glass, which not only offers superior clarity but also maintains the standard set by leading brands like Apple, with the exception of the "nano-texture" option designed for those who really prefer it. They consistently use glass or glossy finishes, ensuring even older models like my MacBook 2017 outshine many of today's monitors from other manufacturers. Matte is often chosen primarily for its cost-effectiveness, not its quality.

The LG just looks sleeker and more modern with the small bezels, no logo, etc. i was about to order a Asus but thought it made sense to stay within the LG eco system. I have several of their oled tvs for years and have never experienced burn in or any issues.

Raised black levels on the QD-OLED defeats the purpose of gaming on an OLED screen. Highly disappointed
@jakeola104 ай бұрын
it's only an issue in a bright room. in a dark room black levels are perfect. And even with some less harsh indirect light in the room, black levels are still only almost imperceptibly raised compared to WOLED. If you plan to use your display during the day in a well lit room WOLED is the better choice, but otherwise if you're in a darker environment QD-OLED presents a much better image.
@timpeeee19043 ай бұрын
@@jakeola10 its not better.. QD-OLED looks only Red in Pictures.. and WOLED is Natural ... LG wins over the overpriced ASUS. facts.
@jakeola103 ай бұрын
@@timpeeee1904 doesn't matter how it looks in pictures, only in person. I've seen a QD-OLED and a WOLED tv side by side in person running the same content, and the QD-OLED is absolutely superior in its more natural color reproduction and panel uniformity. LGs WOLEDs look great definitely and there have been significant improvements over the years, but the QD-OLED is simply superior and an evolution of the technology.

@jakeola104 ай бұрын
It should be mentioned that QD-OLED has raised black levels only in a bright room. in the dark the black levels of QD-OLED are perfectly on par with WOLED. Showing QD-OLED alongside a WOLED in a bright room seems a little disingenuous without the added context of the role room lighting plays. It is absolutely worth mentioning the raised black levels of QD-OLED in a bright room as that is definitely a deal breaker for many, but the context is important so that the raised black levels aren't seen as a baseline flaw compared to WOLED but instead as a situational difference depending on your lighting environment.

Any thoughts/future review on the GIGABYTE AORUS FO32U2?
@DETERMINOLOGYАй бұрын
Timestamp @ 6:30 giving me edge lit vibes. The purpose of OLED is to have perfect contrast and when you have raised blacks you kinda get somewhat the effect of blooming in a sense which i can also see the colors pop more ( extra brightness ) and so on with the QD-OLED. The ROG isn't bad by any means and these OLEDS are close but imo LG needs to get the perfect blacks in the mix with QD-OLED. Like in that screen the ROG looks brownish from raised blacks which again is somewhat the effect of when you get blooming. For me, Its LG 32GS95UE the picture is more in line of what an LG OLED C3 / C4 would be for the most part.

I have come to prefer the matte screen on the woleds. I like that I don’t see my silhouette on when gaming and the raised blacks on the qd oleds are just more reason to go with the lg. I do have really think that people have blown the whole matte vs glossy oled thing out of proportion.
