Thank you so much for this video! I have been searching for the best affordable 4k monitor from LG, but couldn’t navigate my way around the many names! I have decided to go with the 27UP85NP-W as the 27UP850N-w is nowhere to be found where I am from (Denmark). I couldn’t find the difference between the two, so your video helped me a lot!

Just got one for $80 bucks in Facebook marketplace I was just looking for a 27in monitor as a secondary but I had to snatch this bad boy for $80 I’m running it at 1440 to match my main monitor and it’s perfect for the price I copped

Bought the 27up650 for 230€ so far a pretty solid screen. Even the contrast isnt that terrible. :D For a better 4k you probably have to spent atleast 200€/$ more...

thank you for your advise. i dit some recource myself and the p versions ( 27UL550-W vs 27UL550P-W) mean compatible with eu power regulations/laws.

Thank you so much for this video bro, really I mean it!! LG has one of the worst nomenclatures and I feel they should put up a summary like your video on their website for the customers to understand the differences. Also their Filter button doesn’t work as advertised so that doesn’t help. Maybe they should learn from Dell? Cheers! ❤

Amazing video this. I'm a bit consufused between the 27UP650 and the 27UP850. Both are on sale right now for great prices, but the 850 is about 67 USD more. I'm not sure if just getting a USB Hub is worth that price difference.

It's a power delivery USBC port, so it charges your laptop while also transmitting the image/sound and USB signals. If you have a need for it, it's amazing, but if not, save some money and go for the still awesome 27UP650.

I'm undecided between the Asus Proart 279cv, BenQ PD2705U and Lg 27un880-b or the Lg 27un880p-b based on your experience and knowledge, which of the four do you think is the best buy? I will use this monitor for web design, web content, programming and also for watching movies and series. My office has a window that is open most of the time. The window is 4 meters away from the monitor. What do you think? Thanks in advance

I noticed the price of the 850 has really come down recently and I got the 27UP85NP for just €300 myself :) Love the colors, not so much the stand, looks a bit cheap, but I can let that pass given everything else.

The screen has almost no side edges, but this is useless because when turned on, a black background appears that reduces the useful space and creates the illusion of thick edges.

This video was extremely useful for properly understand everything. Here in Japan, Samsung is nowhere to be seen so I have to go with LG always. A new model that has appeared here lately is 27BP85UN-W. To me seems really similar to the 27UP850N-W. Do you think they use the same panel?

Very likely yes. If it has USB-C with 90W power delivery it's most likely a very similar model. Here in Europe we have the 27UP85NP now replacing the 27UP850N and it's going for just 283 EUR right now.

My 27uk600 suddenly development edge discoloration 1.5 year after warranty ended… not sure if i can trust LG anymore… fixing the unit cost as much as buying a new one (quoted by LG service center)

My model also started to suffer from image retention around the edges, but that was after about 5-6 years (now 7 years old), however it's still perfectly usable, so I'm not too bothered about it. They are definitely made cheaper these days though, so time will tell how my new one will hold up.

I’ve been looking at the LG 27TQ615S-PZ 27, I can’t see that on your list? We want to use it as a TV, any thoughts on this please?

The thing that stands out most about this TV/monitor is that it's only 1080p resolution and at 27" that would make it a very bad monitor as the text would look very unsharp (jagged). As a TV it's very small at only 27" so it really is an odd product to be honest. If you want a TV, I would get at least a 42" 4k model, they're very affordable these days. Of course it depends on the size of the room and viewing distance and your budget, so I can't advise any further without knowing that.
