Cc Harrison and David Thompson..... I'm turning in my Wolfpack card the fact that I overlooked David Thompson after crying about how I wish we were more like the 70s lol. That being said I was born in 85 CC Harrison is my favorite NC State player of all time. When we beat the dirty foot club while they were ranked number one and he slammed the ball and then tap the backboard is my favorite memory in sports.

It’s become a feature of the program. 1 guy - okay sure, things didn’t work out. 4-5 guys? That’s a pattern. Mike James is an injury thing, so it’s a bit different. But more transparency would be appreciated

As for the people needed on this team, give me Trevor Lacey and TJ Warren. I watched some of Trevor's games with us on KZbin, and he had that look in his eye that nobody can guard me and proved it time and time again. He can handle the rock on pick and rolls and shoot the three. TJ Warren is an absolute matchup nightmare and can also score in all 3 phases, along with his rebounding. Has a nose for the ball and finds ways to score even if you don't scheme him into the play.

Disclaimer: I know it's early to be thinking about next year! BUT... I'm a bit worried looking at the future of the program because we currently have 4 scholarship players with the ability to return next year. At this point, we're definitely out of the tournament unless we pull off the unthinkable again. I'd begin thinking about, "Okay, what do we have in Trey, Bryce, and Paul?" You have to find out if they can be your starters or will need to be coming off the bench next year so we know what the needs truly are in the portal. DPJ is probably expected to start next year, and both Trey and Bryce have impressed me so far. McNeill is the big question mark at this point in time. Gotta have answers before the offseason if you're going to have a rebound season like we did in '22-'23.

I wouldn't bank on any player still being here next season. That's kind of how we have to operate these days. Nothing and no one is promised from year to year. Regardless, next season will require a very heavy Transfer Portal class. We're losing a lot of players

I would say Corch and Monroe would have to be at the top of the list. The backcourt is a mess. As far as wings I don’t think our wings are terrible Styles, Parker et al would be complimentary to Monroe who’d be our go to scorer. With Middlebrooks and Huntley-Hatfield they’d be great centers. This team would be legit. Maybe add Googs as an alternative to Monroe to give him a breather at times.

Hickson wasnt bad but going back a little before your time, Todd Fuller was a better rebounder and still put up 20pts has last season. Him and tim ducan were coming to the end of the season and both up for POY. Last game in reynolds that year but Todd had the flu and Tim got the better of him. Probably would have still gone to duncan since he was the returning POY and having a great year, but fuller gave him a run considering how bad we were in those years.

@ oh yes I get that part and that is valid for sure. Two 4 the Pack: Since you guys already mentioned TJ Warren and Scott Wood, who was Cheated out of ALL-ACC recognition, I will go with the obvious. Just give me one more year of Mohammad Diarra and DJ Burns. But if it has to be one of the all-time greats, Thurl Bailey and Cozell McQueen. Cozell McQueen may not be one of the all-time greats but he would eat the lunch of the majority of players you see on the frontline today. On the women's side: Give me Rhonda Mapp and Sharon Manning or Summer Erb and Tiffany Stansbury. Whole Lotta Nothing/Something: Add Mike James name to the yearly list of NO SHOWS that NIL money or scholarship money got wasted on by Coach Keatts. Grayson, remember the 7'2 high school phenom that they pulled out of high school early, only to sit the bench from late December through the end of the season and never play a second of basketball for the team. I bet if you forced Keatts to have a frontline of 7'2 post players (at least three), he would find a way to make them ineffective and get them injured, then look at the fans and say, ' That's why we don't need players over 6'5.' LOL!!!!!!!!! I totally agree with Kenton about the women's basketball team. They are HOT right now and getting HOTTER! Trygger, and Collier, have made tremendous growth since game one. Even Awou has improved. If they could just infuse some more Rhonda Mapp toughness in Trygger, Collier, and Awou along with the positioning skills / scoring around the basket ability of Tiffany Stansbury, you would have unstoppable post players. Again though, they are getting better and better around the basket with each game. And Trygger already has the shooting touch of 6'6 Summer Erb, so that's a big plus. But Grayson, another thing that's got me excited is when I look back at Carolina's 1994 Championship team. Carolina proved that it is possible to win a title with an almost all guard line-up. They had 5 super players, one was a freshman, 4 guards that were 5'11- 6'1 and the fifth starter was a 6'5 center. Look at State's starting line-up: 5-10 guard, 6-0 guard, 6-1 guard, 5-10 soph guard, 6'6 freshman center. Granted, this doesn't mean we are the team of destiny! I'm just acknowledging the similarities that tell me this could be THAT TEAM!

The problem is not the players, its the system and thus the coach. Last year coach Keats was all but fire until the run came about. The run had very little to do with his coaching, he was forced to play old time basketball because of one player, Mr. Burns, he could not play the up and down NBA style Keats wants to play. If you force me to play this style give me David Thompson and JJ Hiks

Objectively, this comment is the only one that proves itself true. NC State’s all time all star list could play with any team in the nation. The problem has been combining layers of talent with competent leadership and pride since the early 90s. Can’t seem to get it all to line up at the same time. Last years team won in spite of Keatts by playing their own games unselfishly together loosely guided by coaching. I think Sendek was a quality coach that couldn’t recruit well, certainly the best we’ve seen since the 90s. I’d like to see him coaching with Lowe recruiting his team and Valvano firing everybody up pregame.
