i found quite a lot of sources online that said that the chinesis is not edible but poisonous.. as i was looking if my ikea aloe is usable... this video says they are both fit for consumption , but i think that is a mistake.

The Barbadensis variety used to be grown in abundance in Barbados for the English market earlier in colonial times.

Informative as usual😇 Was only able to eat them as sinkers on a bubble tea. Oh and also in one of the juice box I bought before, not sure if that was Del Monte or Ceres😅 Btw, the Aloes are thriving well…even though it had a bit of an accident two weeks ago where my office chair fell on them. That was when during sunsets I put them back inside because I baby and love them too much lol! Been leaving them outside since. Anyways, I lost quite a number of leaves but it’s amazing how they survived and is currently shooting new leaves! The mother plant of these must be extremely healthy💚 They don’t die indeed😅

I started my journey of curing my Irritable Bowel Syndrome due to Ankylosing Spondylosis by consuming Aloe Vera Chinensis,the only Aloe vera I have in my garden. I now added the AV Barbadensis to my Garden. It is true that there are more than one variety of AV that are safe for consumption. Sodium peroxide is a bleaching agent, don't use it to your plant. Use hydrogen peroxide to get rid of fungus and bacteria in the soil.
