The State of Ohio legislation is also a joke, capping the raises at 4% per year. That means that each ten year appraisal can go 40%, even higher than the present 35%.

This is some of the best analysis and statistical work I've seen out of NBC4 for a long time. Well done Isabel. I was having a conversation about this just yesterday. Property taxes mileage needs to be on everyone's minds to get on the ballot and revise the rates.

The truth is that you can't think things will remain the same. Not planning to grow old is combined with not saving for changes. Mainly, single women are losing homes today. Not having a two-income household is a significant growing problem.

The church should start a GoFundme, yard sales, bake sales, whatever as a community you can do to help these seniors pay off their tax bills. Get proactive! "Nothing comes to a sleeper but a dream."
