Oh common.. Accent? From where? The first lady was super lithuanian :D The problem is more that people are picking the voices, not the languages. I would give the same sentences for each of them to say in their language. But as a person from Lithuania I still vote for "braliukai" as all the time I'm in Latvia I can't stop listening :)

@@birchheights6542 Depends of which way people use the word similar. Oxford dictionary told me similar means “almost the same but not exactly” which in this case would mean that “similar language” = mutually intelligible. But I’ve noticed that people tend use the word similar in another way… more like “that something has similarities”. I’m not an native English speaker so I have just learned to use the word in a way that corresponds to how other people use them and how most people use the word “similar” doesn’t correspond that well to the dictionary 🤷‍♂️

Putting 'Baltic languages' in the title can be a bit misleading, since Estonian isn't a part of the Baltic language family, it's actually Finnic. So maybe you could say 'language in the Baltics' instead of 'Baltic language', or something like that. :)

@@sofitocyn100 Estonian intonation certainly isnt similar to the Finnish if you listen to it from far without understanding the words. Estonian sounds quite idk..harsh, like chopping wood. Finnish because of longer words and lots of double ää-s and stuff sounds very different to a foreigner. For 700 years Estonians have listened to and talked in German, while the Finns had close contacts with Swedish that has a singing sound to it, intonation drops and goes up like crazy. It has had an impact to the intonations of both Estonian and Finnish.

Dude, Estonian is not a Baltic language, it's a Finnic language. "Baltic" is just a geopolitical term made up by the (historical) colonizers of these three countries, mainly Germans and Russians. This was not a choice of the indigenous nations of these countries. Latvians and Lithuanians started to use the term Baltic to describe themselves and their culture and language sometime in the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century, so pretty recently. Estonians however are instead Finnic, as I mentioned earlier, more related to Finns in every aspect.

The fun fact who don't know that - Lithuanian and Latvian is Baltic language but Estonian is Finno-Ugric language! :) And one more fact about Latvia - in Latvia there is 2x languages - Latvian and Latgalian (many Latvians who never been heard Latgalian will not easy understand what is Latgalian saying) - I make example Latvian you say ''viņš'' (he) but in Latgalian ''jis'' (he); ''mazdēls'' (grandson) in Latvian but ''unkus'' (grandson) in Latgalian; ''Cilvēks'' (human) in Latvian but ''Cylvāks'' (human) in Latgalian. Latgalians have one more letter then in Latvian alphabet ''y'' but in Latvian alphabet there is no such letter. As a child, I managed to live in Latgale in the summer and I learned a few words in Latgalian, but my wife is from another part of Latvia and she has never been to Latgale - and if a plot about Latgale is shown on TV and a Latgalian is interviewed there, she says that she does not understand anything . The Latgalian language is used by approximately 160,000 inhabitants of Latvia.

Latvian is sort of a crossbreed between Lithuanian and Estonian, as while by grammar it's definitely a Baltic language like Lithuanian, it has some sounds and loan words form Finno-Ugric Livonian language, as that tribe got melted together with Curonians, Latgalians and other tribes into Latvian nation. Plus there are some German influences in Latvian, so it sounds sort of a bit harder than Lithuanian.

Lithuanian language is very rich, but we are shy to speak about everything freely. We are not shy to insult each other for sure. I hope that will change as soon as possible. I love the other languages too. Latvian language sounds sometimes sexier than lithuanian, especially when female Latvian speaks. But I'm proud of my country and language, because we are so small and it's very rear to listen lithuanian language abroad.

Not being from any of those countries but having studied a little bit of them through films and songs, Estonian are closer to Finnish, and Lithuanian with Latvian are very similar, almost the same if you change some Lithuanian "a" with "e" and make the "s" lighter...maybe take the rich "z" away too. I love those languages but Lithuanian is closer to heart for me for personal reasons (started because of Hetalia and grew through friendships). I speak some too. It's interesting how they combine Latin with Slavic. PS: The Chilli lady was in the right mood all way through XD

@@compatriot852 Both Slavic and Baltic languages come from the same ancestor Proto-Balto-Slavic, meaning that both Slavic and Baltic languages will be very similar, which they are in vocabulary and grammar (ežeras/ozero) (galva/golova). Also Lithuania and various lands of Rus (Ruthenia) were part of a single country at one point (LDK), this means that Lithuanian has a ton of Slavic words that can be found in modern Russian, Belorussian and Ukrainian today. Bėda, miestas, kilimas, bažnyčia, kryžius, bajoras, turgus, katilas, stiklas are some examples.

Term “sexy” hardly can be applied to any of these languages. But most pleasant sound perhaps is Latvian . Lithuanian, while very similar to Latvian , has too many of these “č,ž.š” sounds which makes it less pleasant. And Estonian sounds more funny , like a baby talk .
