There are translations that are better and certainly more accurate than others, some which can be trusted and some that you really shouldn't. And not all of them say the same thing... NIV for example is one I don't trust, the CSB, NLV and so on .. Even the ESV and NASB which I kinda like fall short for me in some verse translations... For now I'm firmly on the NKJV team and feel like this is the best one for now and also the one I'd recommend...

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. For me, accuracy depends on purpose and intention. If one desires a literal translation, then yes, translations like NLT will be seen as “inaccurate.” However, the intention of the NLT transition is for readability, I.e. thought for thought. The language I adopt is preference rathan than accuracy. Because translations like NIV (thought for thought) is accurate according to its purpose and intention.

I would consider the Passion and the Message translations more of a paraphrase than a translation
@SamuelaknАй бұрын
Yes, the type of translation methodology is a paraphrase, which aligns closer to thought-for-thought

@@Samuelakn I prefer the KJV, but I also read the CSB, and the NKJV. My Sunday School class uses the CSB and my pastor preaches from the NASB. I think of myself as KJV Preferred, not KJV Only.

I was thinking "He did list the different translations under Thought by Thought and Word by Word" but then I realized you're talking about the 7 to 1 Tier list, and I'm thinking "You're right. He didn't do that. I don't know, maybe it just slipped his mind. That happens sometimes. He is only human, after all. Still I think it's a good video.

You have very limited understanding or education in manuscript evidence. The KJV and the NIV say the exact opposite in Proverbs 18:1. Modernized versions are based on Hellenized terra cotta tiles from the Alexandrian Library. But the Dead Sea Scrolls confirmed the letters preserved by the churches through the power of God as He promised in Psalm 12:6-7. He does not need your help or your "scholarly" opinions to preserve His Word to every generation.

I appreciate you taking the time to comment. As I mentioned in the video, the aim of this video isn’t to prove the validity of the manuscript process. I touched on it briefly in the video to provide common knowledge about the manuscript and translation process. This video is for individuals starting their Bible reading journey or curious about different Bible translations. If you want me to create a video about the history of the biblical manuscripts and their validity, I sure can. But again, that wasn’t the goal of the video. The video clearly shows that my approach is not scholarly at all. It’s a video geared towards providing real help to sincere believers. Again as mentioned in the video, the difference between KJV and NIV is that KJV was translated literally (word-by-word) and NIV was translated (thought by thought). However, the Spirit of God works through both rendering of the text. As a sincere believer you have to trust and believe that. Your comment also suggests that the KJV is the only accurate English Bible translation (I'm not sure if you believe that). If so, I would encourage you to remember God's sovereignty. Fundamentally, God inspired people to write the bible and put it together. As believers, we have to trust that God was in the process of translating the Bible from the original manuscript to the English translations we have today. If not, then our only hope is reading in Hebrew/Greek. God bless you, my friend!

@@SamuelaknNo. You never got to a list. You had defined a tier list, 1-7, and never got there. Super lame.
