I'm casting my vote for the C50 on the motorhome chassis. I agree with you about the 19.5's being able to haul some weight and the C50 would be a great hauler. At some point, I'd like to see the Divco turned into a street rod but that body may be too far gone for that.

Anything can be saved with enough money, but to make that one nice, I think a guy would be upside-down real fast. But it will make a great rat rod

For your competition I would do the div-co as a post apocalyptic. Icecream truck on a 4x4 chassis on 40s and call it sweet tooth

As much as I love the C50 idea, I think that would be better for a more complete project vs a rat rod. The post-apocalyptic bus from hell would be a perfect rat, it's already pretty crunchy

I like the DIVCO. It’s versatile interior makes for overnight use. The chassis solution is easy, build it custom, bag it just like Old Crow. Use a Chevy drivetrain for simplicity (NO LS). Weatherproof the body don’t waste time and money on a lot of paint or bodywork. Good luck! We’re watching no matter what you decide on.

I would like to see the old bus put on the motorhome chassis and given a mad max spin. Lowered so you can walk in and out really easy. Use plenty of cage bars and old rusty chains and gears.

My ratrod vote is for the school bus on the truck chassis. But that C50 cab on that RV chassis built into a ramp truck would a super sick build IMHO!!! Oh and I forgot, tell Charles he better buy that truck and get on with this build!!! We aint getting any younger!!!!

I like the idea of building that old van for the RRM Build Off, it has charisma!! I also like the idea of the Mad Max bus, so I am torn between the two... Save the camper for a rat rod version of the combat bus from the movie "Stripes"... Whatever you build will be great...

The bus on the modern chevy chassis is my vote. Second would be the c50 and trailer. That would be a hell of a sweet project, but probably over budget for your build off.

Wow its good here Rat Rod Magazine is back. I did subscribe once and when I did not get an issue I reached out to Tommy Ring and he said he and others did not know why Rat Rod Magazine stop publishing. Now I got to do some research on how to re subscribed. Back to your suggestion on a build for this magazine, I like to see you build the bus, Why? You rarely see any body do an old bus. I seen the video when you got this and since then I been looking for a short old bus like this to do. I would like to see this bus with the early fat fenders like the model a or others. Use this bus as a base, you got stuff to make this a double decker wild looking Rat. Good luck, can not wait to see start building

Hey Julie & Anthony, I love Hot Rod Mini Semi Trucks with trailers to haul other hot rods on. Of course a model T based mini hauler would be really cool as well. Model T's are small bodies, but the Jeep Rod proves that you can make it fit us large guys as well as anyone else. So thats my vote and i'm stickin to it. Take care

I picture it as an ice cream truck, cut open large windows, keep the patina but paint some of it in purple, scary clown murals, on a big 4x4 frame. So high kids can't even order at the window, neon lights, big blower over a big engine. I'd try and find the k5 rear steering to add flavor lol freezers can't cost that much. You can sell real adult beverage ice cream at shows lol

DIVCO - extend the front sheet metal a foot or so from firewall. Slightly raise for an even lower looking front. "Z" the front end to lower to the max using a big truck crossmember (with bags?) for the large rims/tires.(motorhome? C-50?) Lower the body as much as possible. Use a 15" tire rearend for a lower floor in back. Put LONG "turnpike" style skirts on the back to cover the tire all the way to the ground. Won't need "duallys" because no one will be able to see underneath. Flip-down bunks and shag carpet, disco ball, Clear plastic vertical pipes with bubbling colored water. (old van stuff...) NO GALL DARN DIESEL... It's been dun ta death!! How about an inline 6? Multiple carbs? (only one has to work Or just do a C50 with an extended frame like everyone else. (like the sleeper idea though...)(gonna chop up the rear of the fiberglass RV body to make it?) Thanks for letting me design with your money!!
