I mean, for Carrotland: A Celebration you guys already tried a Carrot Eau-de-Vie, a type of unaged brandy that preserves the fruit's original flavours. Carrot vodka would probably have a similar smell, but not the "revenge of the carrots" taste - probably closer to Channing Tatum's potato vodka's "earthy" taste. If you guys still have that bottle from 2020 though, a signature drink using that eau-de-vie would be a fantastic idea!

I’m a little shocked at the supermarket vs sidemen. I myself have a couple of bottles of the xix and I find it exceptionally smooth compared to other vodkas I’ve tried. It also makes a lovely base to add your own botanicals to for making your own Gin-like (depending on qty of juniper) spirit as well x

Ciroc is my favorite of the vodkas and I am not even a drinker. That stuff is so smooth. I believe (and could be wrong) it is made from champagne grapes.

The vast majority of vodkas actually aren't made from potatoes at all. The majority are grain vodkas (the most popular being rye, sorghum, corn, or wheat). Potatoes generally aren't used because they produce a less smooth, more earthy flavor. Pretty much every popular vodka brand you've heard of is a grain vodka. That being said, if you're looking for a sipping vodka instead of just one to mix in cocktails, you're better off finding a non-grain vodka as grain vodkas tend to have less flavor. Ciroc is also made from french grapes which is why it has a fruity flavor.

Vodka can be made from anything you can use as a source for any other alcohol. It is mainly about amount of distillations (7 if I recall) and filtration. The impurities of source material left give it some taste.

Lagavulin is one of my favorite whiskys. I love the smokiness of it. I was drinking it neat one day at dinner and my son's girlfriend started sniffing and thinking something was on fire.
