Which Civivi Button Lock is Best? **RANKED**

if there should be a category for "full-size tactical gentleman's knife" i think the conspirator is a solid budget contender. also its tall blade radiates robust manly confidence while the simplicity of the overall design keeps the passers-by from feeling threatened if they see it in your hand. i could lively imagine James Bond carrying something close to this

I have the Altus, Cogent and Conspirator. Put titanium clip on and polished my wooden Altus scales and man does it look nice. Have to say the Altus is my favorite of the three. The Conspirator gets the less pocket time of the three. I really love button locks and have several of the Kizer models and love them all too. Love your choice of music.

Very entertaining. I just got delivery of my Conspirator yesterday (10/14/2023). It has the stonewashed blade with black micarta scales. I guess I'm kind of boring but anyway, I love the knife. It's only my second Civivi (my first one's a Praxis with coarse black micarta scales and a blackwash 9cr18 blade). I'm thinking of getting a Keen Nadder or a Brazen tanto however, I've also been looking at the Chevalier for quite some time. I'm more into midsize to large knives but another Civivi that I'm considering is the Odd 22. Anyway, like I said at the beginning, very entertaining video. I just subscribed.

I'm very happy with my Conspirator that I thought of getting another Civivi button lock. I had my eye on the Chevalier but when I checked online, the shop where I buy my Civivis had the new Sentinel Strike available. The only reservation I had was the fact that it uses K110 steel which is only semi stainless. Nevertheless, I put in an order. I wanted the red but another buyer beat me to the punch so I settled for the all-black version instead. Looking at both now (in pictures), I'm glad I went with the black. It looks meaner. I think you should try one too. I can't wait for tomorrow.

I would take your list and flip it. Altus is best, conspirator 2nd, Chevalier 3rd, cogent 4th.

Does button lock means you cant open the knife unless you press the button? So it will stay locked closed?.

Button lock refers to what locks the knife in the open position. So in this case you push a button to close the knife. As opposed to auto knives that open with the button push.

I have a cogent and when closed it makes a rattle sound if I shake it and the blade shifts to one side, do you know a fix?

That sounds like the button is not aligned properly, but it is difficult to say without having it in my hands. In any case, I’m sure Civivi/WE would take care of it. It’s a toss up if you’d need parts anyway so I’d bark up the warranty claim tree mailto:[e-mail]
