Which Color Jerk Bait is the Best?

Now is a great time for jerk baits. With changing conditions how do we choose the proper color? Which color jerk bait is best? In this video I will go over a simple way to get started. Once you get a bit of a pattern you can then start to dial it in.

Most of my water here in Northern WI is tanic. I've thrown alot of different colors and gold is always at the top. Mostly catch smallmouth on jerkbaits here.

I fish gin clear water 95% of the time and I have found the transparent colors do best for me. The ghost minnow and baitfish looking patterns have been key to my success over the past 3 years. Like I said in one of your previous videos the OSP jerkbaits seem to always get looked over. I had an incredible fall using the veruna and the asura. I think the fish aren’t used to seeing them as much and for the smallmouth in my area it definitely made a difference. The color of the belly is most important on the jerkbait, same for topwater plug or frog.

Shasta Lake came up 5 feet after the first atmospheric river, this one's even bigger (been raining steady for two days). All this forecast to continue. This probably proof that all tournament fishermen possess bad karma.

The last couple years the weather has been brutal for the Shasta events. It’s gonna be an interesting one for sure.
