This is a a Costco thing, the Pharmacy has the lowest dispensing fee for prescriptions. Membership is not required to use it because of Law. they still ask for it just for tracking purposes. Also Costco has some of the best prices for prescription glasses.

You might be able to sneak in, and there are some self-ordering cash registers that don’t need you to punch in your Costco card info, but from what I can see online, Costco changed that policy back in 2020. The only thing I’ve heard of that you don’t need a membership for is the pharmacy. It’s 2 AM and you’re making me want a Costco hot dog now… 😂

The costco memberships make more sense for a family or business owners. After benefiting from my parents' membership for years now. I can say that we end up buying things we wouldn't otherwise just because it's a good deal. Sure, your value/dollars increases, but did this extra value boost your quality of life to a significant degree. If you're disciplined and come in with a list, you're like to save a lot of money with Costco, however. Good video.

Yes, this is spot on! I look at how much food alone my parents had to buy for me and my siblings who eat a lot and it’s insane for me to think about not having a Costco membership. I can also understand how it’s tempting to buy things because the prices of some things are so cheap! Thanks for watching and commenting, Olivier! 🙌

Executive not worth it... you can get 2-3% back with almost any credit card nowadays

That’s a great point - looking at the cashback point alone that makes sense, but I could see someone choosing the executive membership if they use the other benefits often. Thanks for watching and commenting! 🙌

@daisycourtney100 yes, you can use credit cards at Costco, but it depends on where you live. In Canada, we can only use Mastercard and in the U.S., I believe it’s VISA, but it’s good to give a quick Google search to double check what works in your area.

With executive membership do you get 2% back even you spend less than $3000? For example, if you spent $1000, do you get $20 back?

Yes, according to Costco’s website they say that “Rewards less then $1 will not be sent out” so as soon as you break $50 spend annually, you will start earning cash back theoretically. This continues all the up to $50 000 annually, where you max out the rewards at $1000. I’ve included a calculator that shows your earning rewards if you want to check that out in the description and thanks for commenting! 🙌
