Queen Elizabeth II is probably the most-recognised monarch in the world. She’s queen of the United Kingdom and Australia, but did you also know she is also head of state of 16 other Commonwealth realms?
Those realms include Canada and New Zealand, as well as Jamaica, The Bahamas, Barbados and several other countries in the Caribbean and the Pacific.
Aside from Queen Elizabeth’s territories, there are also 29 sovereigns across more than 40 other countries in the world today.

Some very odd statements. Sweden is one of the few to allow female succession? What? How about Australia and the other 16 Commonwealth realms? Belgium? The Netherlands - which had three queens in a row? Thailand? Norway? Denmark? Spain? Luxembourg? Monaco? Many more current monarchies allow female succession than do not.

no he means it in the sense of agnatic-cognatic where all male heirs have precedence over all female heirs, like say a king has 3 daughters at the age to rule but then his wife gives him a son then he would be ahead of his older sisters. Yes the UK did change the law earlier last year and Princess Charlotte didn't lose out to her younger brother Prince Louis but many other countries have not

@@artistflare9072 You must be quite young, right ? But there are lots of people, like myself who went to school before britain was in the EU. And we had 'Commonwealth Day', when we used to dress up in costumes of all the countries, and we'd ask our mothers to save the labels on products that came from those colonies as most of them hadn't got independance then. Some had, but they were still in the Commonwealth. So we used to stick these labels into scrapbooks, like oranges, pineapples, coffee, cocoa, things that only came from the colonies, like S. Africa, and other places. And so like that we learnt about these countries. Today, the kids don't learn about them, BUT, Britain is still run by many of that generation who still imagine there is that empire and can't get over the fact that it's no longer the same, and they want out of Europe because they dream of getting those old colonies and commonwealth countries to give them back their 'sovereignty', but it's just an illusion as time has gone on, and now it's Europe that is the place to be a group, because there are countries that have their own federations and power, and AFrica too will group itself into regions and power groups that will be competitors. Europe is the only group where countries can survive today and in the future.

Correction : Malaysia consist of 14 united states of which 13 are states with their own administration and 1 Federal state form in 1974. Of the 14 states , 9 are kingdom with their own King ( Sultan). Of these 9 Kings ,they rotate to become Chief of King for 5 year term. This was done after the Cobbolt comission was set up to establish the Bills in Parliament so that only the signature of the Chief of King ( known as Yang Dipertuan Agong of Malaysia) signs the Bill to be enacted as an Act. Previously all the 9 Sultan had to sign the Bill be4 being enacted. This was a hassle. The Chief of King ( Yang Dipertuan Agong) position is rotated among the 9 royal household of the 9 kingdom in a special meeting called the Rulers Conference, royalties from these 9 kingdom are hereditary from father to son. So, it's not an elected position per say as we know who will likely assume the Sultan position in case of demised. It is still hereditary. This happen because the last Sultan of Malacca was assassinated whilst on an elephant hundreds of years ago ,can't remember when. If the Sultanate of Malacca still existed, their majesty will be the only King and his hereditary to rule whole of Malaysia.

NZ Maori are Polynesians, generally speaking the title of King or Queen is a "High Chief" who represents a particular tribe, there are variations throughout Polynesia. The term King or Queen may not be directly translated as absolute monarchy, in the case of the indigenous King in NZ he is referred to as the "Maori King" but in essence is the Leader of the Tainui people and their sub-tribes. The Maori King holds great mana and is respected by all tribes and wider Polynesia. The Kingdom of Tonga does have close to an absolute Monarch.

Rigged AF. Seriously, what the hell _is_ this? (from wiki) The Australian republic referendum held on 6 November 1999 was a two-question referendum to amend the Constitution of Australia. The first question asked whether Australia should become a republic with a President appointed by Parliament following a bi-partisan appointment model which had been approved by a half-elected, half-appointed Constitutional Convention held in Canberra in February 1998. The second question, generally deemed to be far less important politically, asked whether Australia should alter the Constitution to insert a preamble. For some years opinion polls had suggested that a majority of the electorate favoured a republic.[3] Nonetheless, the republic referendum was defeated due to division among republicans on the method proposed for selection of the president and dissident republicans subsequently supporting the no campaign.
