I have heard that Japanese at first tend to love western countries. However, after living in the west for a while, they feel being marginalized due to cultural and language barriers. I have met with a few Japanese on working holiday here in Canada. They often showed signs of being unable to absorb the differences. Nevertheless, they are very friendly and polite. I wish being able to meet and be friend with a Japanese soon in the future. I am thinking of visiting Japan for second time, hopefully. Thanks for this beautiful video.

For most Europeans and Americans, especially Americans, who want freedom and don't like to be controlled, there is no freedom in Japan. I don't think you'll continue to like Japan after living there for a long time. Of course, if you work for an American company, it might save you a lot of trouble. If an American works in a Japanese company and works the Japanese way, I think the first day you will be marching in the streets! Ha ha

The Japanese who love America because of freedom see America as something that will allow them to do whatever they want to but this is where the problem starts. The absolute freedom there has let to so much crime that when they start living in the west, they finally realize that the little restriction in Japan was better. Japanese culture is far better in that way.
@johnalden5821
@johnalden5821 2 жыл бұрын
I respectfully disagree that crime is a result of too much freedom. What about the people who do not commit crimes in the U.S. but yet enjoy a tremendous ability to pursue personal fulfillment, community betterment and wealth? Also, there are a tremendous number of criminals who are decidedly NOT free here, because they are in prison. The U.S. imprisons a larger share of its population than pretty much any other developed country. The root causes of crime are (in no particular order) lack of skilled parenting, growing up in festering ghettos that nobody knows how to (or cares to) improve, lead poisoning and other environmental hazards (indirectly), mental illness, growing up in a toxic culture of violence, rampant availability of guns, and lack of educational or economic resources to attain a decent livelihood, IMHO.

These young people are sweet and likeable, but many are very ignorant about other countries culture. The grass just isn't always greener on the other side of the fence. I live in USA and most people like USA and western countries by watching movies and series. But in reality life sucks in western world, it’s same day everyday and during weekends you only go to shopping or restaurants to meet friends but in India you can enjoy every day with family and friends. Most of the Western world is depressed world and most of them don’t know their neighbors and don’t even talk to each other..
@xenotypos
@xenotypos 2 жыл бұрын
Well, in that regard it's the same in Japan and Korea, so it's more a developed countries thing than a western thing. It varies though, family seems more important in latin speaking countries than in germanic speaking ones, so the West itself isn't monolitic.

Maybe in your experience, but in general, the USA is filled with a lot of cultures. You got southern hospitality in the south with all the great food and loving people. You got city life in NY. Vegas gives you one of the biggest entertainment capitals of the world. You have the everything is bigger in Texas and you got the relaxed, casual beaches, and everyday sunshine of California. Foods come from every country in the world in the U.S because it's the most diverse country. If you go to most other countries, you really only get 1 culture. Sure there are some regional differences but for the most part it's consistent. This is especially true if you go to Asian countries because they tend to be more conservative. That's why a lot of people from foreign countries always want to visit the United States. It's number 1 in tourism for a reason.
@xenotypos
@xenotypos 2 жыл бұрын
@@xJinRaGna It's very ignorant to assume USA is more diverse than countries thousands of years older. It's just not the same kind of diversity: each region and states in the "old world" has traditions that survived for thousands of years. They often have distinct architectural features from area to area, while in america many cities look almost the same. Diversity isn't just multiculturalism in one single city, it's different regions that look nothing like each other and have their own history. In that regard, north america is very monolithic, more than most countries around the world. Probably because most people arrived there reatively recently. I mean, people don't even speak the same language in countries such as China or India, how can you even compare. Regarding the kind of "diversity" you're talking about, it's basically the same in the UK, France or Germany.

It is also why I prefer the more rural areas where you don't see a lot of foreigners and the residents don't really speak English. Nobody spoke English to me in Akita except for Sister Agnes Sasagawa when she saw my entry in the guestbook saying that I was from the USA. Cab driver was nice and didn't even charge me full fare. I mean, I've talked to tens of thousands of Japanese people in my life, and the ones who talk like this are just trying to get laugh.
