I love that all cards in digimon are so affordable... EXCEPT FOR THE SEC RARES. JESMON GX is like 50 euros. I hope that they price goes down as they become less played

Side note about the Gallantmon deck: EX2 and BT12 are obviously great, but BT9 and EX3 also have Guilmon lines to add cards from. The EX3 line is Red and Purple, while the BT9 cards are the X Antibody variant of the line. The BT2 and BT5 Guilmon cards are okay, but they should only really be considered as temporary substitutes for other cards (though the Gallantmon cards for both are pretty good).

Im so sad. I had like 6 decks from the first wave, my basement flooded and the plastic bin i had them in had a crack on the bottom so the boxes got damaged. By the time i found them moisture got to the decks themselves. Most of the cards are fine, but i lost that collectability. I found a local that plays Digimon so ima get into the playing aspect and im excited. Thanks for the video!

So I’m coming into this game from Yugioh, and I’m looking in these starter decks fully believing you when say buy 2, since buying 3 starters is normal and well accepted in Yugioh But after looking I’m of the opinion that digimon starter decks are designed to buy only 1. Buying a second one doesn’t do much for you. Even in Beelzemon, you’re getting 4 beelzemon in one set, the cards you get 2 of aren’t of much consequence. If you want 4, it’s few enough to be more cost effective and just smarter in general to buy those in singles. And yes beelzemon is an advanced set not a starter, but the other starters, this is true for them as well. The only advantage to buying 2 of the Gallantmon starters for example might be getting 2 of each memory boost, but most of what you’re getting is extra copies you won’t be using, yet you’re still paying full price for the second deck. I think that’s silly. In fact I ran the numbers. About 80% of that second deck will be extra copies that will go straight into a binder and not in your deck. Basically I think they’ve designed the starters to get one and bolster it with boosters and singles

Gallantmon and Ulforce are best for completely new players as they are very straight-forward. Imperialdramon, Mastemon, and Jesmon are more competitively viable. Ragnaloardmon is very cool but clunky. The first pair and the last pair include extra cards in the form of the memory boost options and tamer cards respectively which is added value and getting full playsets of these extras are incentive to buy two of each starter deck.

Funnily enough, I just Started.Playing the game about a month or two ago and I actually started with ImperialDramon and Jesmon. Like you said in the video, I think they are both pretty beginner friendly and it helps that ImperialDramon is probably my favorite line in the whole series. I didn't even know Jesmon was a thing. But more than Jesmon, I actually like the sistermon and Gankoomon support. They're What make the deck Really fun. The Jesmon is actually just a pretty standard.

I live in the uk and the og starter decks seem to be dirt cheap here. Was just shopping around and most of them are around 5 pounds a pop (most of the new ones are 13-20 pounds). Based on this would you still reccomend against them? Is the booster the second 3 come with particularly relevant aswell?

this vid was released in January this year. Advanced Bunny deck wasn't even a thing in Japan at the time. though, with it being released in Japan lat week, it looks like a solid Starter Deck so far. I don't have any competitive info yet, but its a good set on its own, and it supports Terriermon-Gargomon decks and Cherubi-focused decks as well.

Gallantmon (ST7), Imperialmon(ST9), Jesmon(ST12), Maste (ST10) and Beelz(ST14) are all good beginner decks All have good support cards that you can get to strengthen the decks as well

Ragna (legend-arms) is currently a deck/archtype thats been left behind. there are rumblings that a new Ragna is coming in a future set, along with Maste and Examon.
