Well not that simple. We are talking about the reels that make possible the Big Game on light tackle. Daiwa Saltiga 18k + Centaur 84M ( the Combo weights 1,5 kg and allows you to fish on 130 Lbs class)

@stew-03 if it's possible buy Saltiga since is smooth and very hard. Is very good for tuna I have 2 now, 18kh y 18kp. PE#6-10. and both catched fish Up 80 kilos even more. You just change.

What I like about the Shimano drag sound is that they made it so it reverberates and resonates within the spool. Most other reels just click for the sake of clicking.
@xplicitfishinАй бұрын
Thank god for Daiwa fanboys like me that they've seemed to copy that super audible and tactile sensation of the Shimano drag on any Daiwa models from 2023 and newer.
@smurfythesmurfАй бұрын
@@xplicitfishin I have newer model Daiwas too. Not the higher end ones though. The lower end ones have a big more clink than before, but they're not as loud or chimey as Shimano, unfortunately.

@unni.m19595 ай бұрын
As someone never used such high price fishing equipments, I'm asking what r the advantage a 2 , 3 thousand dollar combo bring ?
@harmonicsrioter53854 ай бұрын
@unni.m1959 imo, even though I don't have a 2K combo, there is a difference. I upgraded from a 30 dollar Shimano FX to a 200 dollar Shimano Stradoc CI4 like 10 years ago. The FX gave me 3 good years, but the Stradic is still going strong despite fishing it in conditions way beyond what it was meant to do. For me, it's about dependability and durability. A higher end reel will remain smooth and dependable for many years if you take good care of it.
@blackhammerftw19604 ай бұрын
@@unni.m1959it’s usally much lighter and depending on how bad your combo rly is much less clunky. And the reels will handle the elements like salt water and sand better. I’d recommend an ugly stick tiger elite and a good real something with lots of dragm and pretty smooth I use Kast king sharky III or kask king megatron. That combo is about $150 a rod spooled with braid and we’ve used them for almost 6 years now on our boat and they have caught a 45+ inch striper and a 42 inch snook and there still running good. Their reels definitely aren’t anything special. But for $50-$60 bucks your getting a reel much better then a cheap $100 penn or Shimano. 30 something pounds of drag on there 6000’s 10 bb. For the price and what you get it’s wanna of the best combos. And the tiger elite rod is much nicer and lighter than a normal ugly stick. For me that setup is perfect about 90% of the time. Id only get a $300 reel if we were offshore fishing for like tuna or if I surf fished frequently. I’ve used nice Shimano and diawa stuff and I have 3 custom rods I’ve built but seriously all you need is the combo I stated above and I guarantee you’ll be fine. If you wanna splurge, splurge on the reel, get a nice Shimano.
@MarlonK.fishing4 ай бұрын
@@unni.m19591k combo isn't all that high end, definitely still in the range where you get significant return for your money, a reel with top end components will be 400-600, really good rods start around 250, in the 500-1000 range is where you will probably find your dream. The reel is more important for landing fish though, if you really fish hard you will know the difference but to be fare most never push their tackle enough to find out, but if you do... basically high end reels land fish other reels can't handle, high end rods are able to be good at helping you fight the fish while being great casters and just fun to fish, though that only matters on PE6 and above, below any rod that casts the lure will be able to land the fish cause you're strong enough to max it out even if it doesn't really support you, usable low3r price rods always sacrifice to be able to do it all, while true high end ones(when I say high end I mean actual high end stuff, not marketed up mid to bottom tier gear) while being a bit of a compromise excel at both
@blimblumbollumblumb3 ай бұрын
It's all fun and games until salt water splashes into the housing, or you hook a big pelagic. Cheap reels aren't bad, they're just easy to break.
