You're kidding, right? Bellamy and Pearce are class acts with bags of playing experience. These are multi-club players who have marginal preference to any club. As much as I respect Carragher & Neville, they are Liverpool and United through and through... huge bias. Also, I don't want to be entertained or have my opinion changed. The assessments of both Bellamy and Pearce were dead on in this discussion. Liverpool may have another gear, City are exceptional, United are woeful, and Spurs keep teasing us. Spot on, in my opinion.

Liverpool and City are both outstanding sides capable of winning the Champo League. Spurs have too thin a squad to compete for top four AND the Champo League. If Levy gives Poch £100m at Christmas that could change. United are in turmoil. They have an excellent squad and a manager who is a winner but they really don’t work as a unit at any level. If I had to pick someone to drop a ton on...I’d drop a ton on City. Liverpool want the league more than the Champo League.

City's backup keeper is out for the entire season after rupturing his achilles, Mendy is out until Jan/Feb, KDB played about 100 minutes total for the season, Aguero has been injured, as has Berndardo Silva, David Silva, Danilo & Stones. To answer your question - Gomez got injured a week ago, meaning he's only missed 1-2 games. Ox isn't clearly your best midfielder, as cases could easily be made for Keita, Milner & Wijnaldum. Trent picked up a knock, and will probably only miss 1-2 games. Those aren't close to being comparable to City's. Summary - your injuries are either to less important players, or have only just occurred, meaning their impact is yet to be felt. A like-for-like comparison - Long-term injuries to Salah & Robertson. Let's see you sustain those and remain top of the league.

liverpool, city have had chance after chance but always seem to flop in europe, liverpool in one season back got to a champions league final in 2018 and did what city have failed to do for the last 6-7 years. liverpool with the anfield atmosphere, the experience, the pedigree are englands best chance. liverpool have always been a good cup team especially in this competition, it suits them and as pearce says liverpool are top of the table but havent even played well yet, people keep saying liverpool arent playing as well as last season, thats only a positive, imagine when they do hit form and the front players start scoring. ominous for everyone else. It was this time last season where liverpool hit form. all 4 english sides made hard work of the group stages though, none really cruised, liverpool were in a difficult group so give them credit for getting out of it, but they were poor away from home, city for me were in a pretty easy group and needed last minute winners, they were always going to qualify, united qualified but lets be honest if it wasnt a couple of lucky long ball last minute winners against basel and juve they'd be out, spurs i think played the best funnily enough out of all the english sides but they barely got over the line. Interesting to see the draw now.

He bought players he needed for his system and got rid of the dead wood. Jose splashed cash on big names rather than properly filling out his squad, Ashley young and Valencia are still fullbacks. Also you should look up the numbers for spending because that's not that big of a difference between united and city

There has never been such a "non-dominant" dominant team like Real Madrid. Winning four out of five Champions League is beyond historical. Yet, few would say Real's run has been that of even a top-five club of all time. This mainly has to do with the fact that they've only won their league once during this stretch, and some people will say they were heavily lucky. That leads to the conclusion that the CL winner is not necessarily the best team. In other words, even though one can reasonably select the eight teams that have 6-8 teams that can win it, it's nigh impossible to make anyone a clear favorite. As good as City are, it's worth noting that had they been playing Chelsea home and away in the CL, a 2-0 first leg loss would have been a death knell.

I used to think that Man City was a level above the rest in the Premier League. Then they lost to Chelsea so i dont think they are "Too Good" anymore. We can certainly compete with City. As for Champions League, i m not sure about City's chances yet. They seem more vulnerable in the competition. Given we have lost all 3 away games, Liverpool's chances are also uncertain to me.

City can bully premier league opponents as they are technically inferior. It just doesn't translate into Europe where teams are on a higher level than the prem. On a level playing field City lacks the striker. I love Agüero, but his record against the top teams is sad reading. I hope I'm proven incredibly wrong and look silly after the fact. I'll take it...

Alex VI Yeah, I’m not a fan of city at all but I think they are prob the best equipped in England to answer the question. But yeah city and psg always seem to bully or do really well domestically but never seems to translate in Europe. Who do you think will win ucl this season? @@TheMrMantequilla It's a cup competition so you never know. I'd rule out Bayern. They are not what they used to be with an ageing squad. I'd say Juventus of Liverpool are probably the best squads for knockout football. Atlético de Madrid should be among the top clubs. Barcelona have Messi, but also Valverde who is a horrible match for Barça. Dortmund and Ajax could surprise clubs but will likely fall short.

Imo Man city if they play like they do in the BPL will win it, on their day Liverpool could win it or at least do well, Man utd could do ok on their day, otherwise they’ll get humiliated, Tottenham could cause an upset, but IMO they are not good enough to win it. But realistically i think only 1 of them will succeed (in what i said they will do), i don’t know which one tho, it depends. (I’m a Tottenham fan)

Bellamy is the only pundit I’ve hear mention the de bruyne Injury well done. I’m not a city fan but people are saying it’s so close yes that is only because city don’t have their best player and one of the best players in the world. They are the only team in the PL who can not have their best player and atm are a point behind. This will be unchartered territory for both Liverpool, City and even Spurs - because all 3 of these teams were beaten by bigger names when it mattered. I don't see any English team winning the UCL this year. Liverpool are going to focus on the league, Manchester City I think are too complacent this year and don't think they have it in the bag to beat a team like Paris or Barcelona over 2 legs, Spurs don't have the squad depth to compete right at the top just yet and United just aren't good enough to be serious contenders for a major trophy anymore.

Why are man city every year considered the favourites, especially the favourite English team, to either win or do the best in the champions league, Liverpool beat them on multiple occasions last year, knocked them out of the champions league and got to the final until we were cheated by ramos, this year we have been the best team in the league, yes we had a shaky group but that is due to focusing more on the league. Man city have also suffered defeats in the champions league, being beat at home. Liverpool should be favourites among the English teams to win the Champions league

City, by the way that they're playing, look like they'll get gassed out come March and April. Also, Pep hasn't gotten past the semifinals without Messi and Xavi. Liverpool will probably have League distractions, and I don't see them going too far like last year, unless they get a favourable draw. Barca and Juve are the two biggest favourites this season

Off pedigree alone, Liverpool are more likely to win the CL than the other three English clubs COMBINED. Of course, with Spurs and Utd in particular having next to no chance, that doesn't make Liverpool that much more a favourite than City, but that they are. With them having never won it, you'd have to be insane to think City are favourite.

City in England and City in Europe are two different teams! There is no that much passion or will to win CL from City...Lvp in knockout phase at Anfield is strongest team in Europe! Anfield factor can get you to final..But i feel that this season Klopp and Lvp wont be that interested in winning CL as long as they have chance for title in PL! And i have to say that of all English teams, Lvp have best chances..But again, i think Klopp wont be that bothered with CL..The main thing was to get out of group and avoid Europa League..
