The Cantina will double minimum it will take a few years. The Cloud City set was only on shelves for 14 months. The Cantina has been available for over 4 years. Both have a good number of exclusive MiniFigures about the same price. The biggest difference is the time on shelves.

@Isak_c I do believe it will double in value, but it will take longer than the Cloud City set because of that shelf life difference. More people had an opportunity to purchase it.

Tip, invest in sealed polybag exclusive or anniversary figures. Low storage, easy to postage as well as costs. You will always make money too.

At 8:13, 10:10, and 11:45 I think we need to always keep in mind these 2020 value pops were mostly just Covid happening where people were stuck indoors and looking for non-social forms of entertainment. Sort of a one-off event. Regarding R2-D2, the $99 version comes with a high-value, cool, exclusive minifig. The retiring $240 set only comes with a droid that isn't exclusive (IT IS IN THE MOS EISLEY SET LOL). All in all, Mos Eisley being on shelves for 4.25 years might be a problem. On top of that, I get the feeling there will be a lot of investors who think this is the best "pick" and investor supply might be higher than normal for a $400 set. As with almost everything else, pricing discounts makes all the difference.

I think just about every master builder series UCS set like Ewok village, betrayal at cloud city etc pretty much double in price. And doubling at that buy in investment is absolutely worth it. If you’re getting the cantina at 100$ off like how it was on Amazon in 2023, then you are doing amazing I believe. This set has great minifigs and many investors are scared of it

You know what...I ve been to Legoland in Gernany lately Tuesday and Wednesday. ..sooooooo many people and of course mainly Kids. So, I cannot imagine how many collectors are on the way in the upcomming years...uncountable! Old Lego Sets, does not matter which franchise, will skyrocket in value due this Infinit demand. Did i hear right you complained about the AT-AT being just all grey. Yet you praised the Star Destroyer that's also all grey. So it's not the color that's your issue it's the shape. Personally, the AT-AT is much easier to display.

probably the lack of texture on the AT-AT is making it seem more dull than the Star Destroyer even though both are grey. But as I mentioned in the vid, it's just my opinion

@BrickBucks The AT-AT does have fewer studs exposed. So less texture. For me, it's the best UCS set in terms of scale and appearance and display ability for something even close to it's size that Lego has made. The Star Destroyer is great it's just very difficult to display.

I wouldnt be suprised though they might end up making a 250/300 AT&T set.. as its retiring this early. Every so many years there is an AT&T. I mean, there are only so many star wars sets worth repeating a remake, so they will sooner or late either release a small set, agaiun (?) or one in between. Which would impact sales and the only market left would then be the UCS collectors… I will buy 2. One for personal collection and just one because you never know and it won’t loose value in the end anyway. So yeah. Thats that :)

The Landspeeder would have been a definite buy before the exclusive C-3PO ended up in another set. Not as many other resellers.

Imo cantina will do good. The playablity and unique minifigures help in this set. Also lego investing is cooling off a bit. Lego investing is not for the weak.

I just picked up a new sealed Mos Eisley set from someone unloading their investments. Paid 250 for it. I likely could have talked him down a bit, but thought the price was fair enough. I’m currently building the set and really enjoying the build.

Not just investing, but even for collecting, I start to lose interest. LEGO release way too many new sets, and it's just too hard to keep up.

Not stopped, but definitely slowed down. In the UK the ROI's have plummeted in recent years, apart from a few selected sets. It's much harder to pick winning sets when Lego release so many every year, and most investing videos recommend similar top 10's each year, which leads to massive hoarding and then over supply on the best sets post-retirement. I think the people who make good money are able to: 1. Buy in volume at discount (probably in the US) 2. Have a good storage and shipping setup 3. Are experienced at choosing winning sets For the casual investor (certainly in the UK) I think the reseller market has flatlined, and long-term holds might be the only option for decent ROI's.

Yep. There's just too many people arm sweeping shelves now. I used to be able to go from Walmart to Walmart finding great deals during clearance season. I haven't found a single noteworthy deal in two years. My local FB marketplace is absolutely loaded with resellers now. It's not worth it anymore.

Im not really out of the business but reduced it yes. I buy more from just a couple sets which are far less mentioned in the socials. That’s a must nowadays. Everybody buys the same 15/20 sets…

When everyone's talking about the same thing, it's time to pull out. Mos Eisley Cantina is gonna be a flop. Amazon and Lego can easily unretire it for another 6-12 months before any meaningful increase in value is seen.

Buy any of the retiring sets cheap. Cantina was at least 20% off at John Lewis for example. Millennium Falcon will retire soon, just picked one up from Ebay for £500.

​​@@IcemanBricksin continental Europe it looks like we are in a huge bear Lego market since post covid...too much supply, too few demand, all the holding time increased A LOT to see at least a 30/50% increase. But remember how much time and efforts to make that %. Post covid the % of not successfull set incread also dramatically so you have to try to pick only the best instead of "play the field". So...money blocked for 3/4 years, lot of space required, lot of skill and experience required for "Lego picking". U can start only bcause u just wonna have fun remembering to buy at least 30% on sale, nothing more is worth. Good luck! Edit: oc i dont know ur local market,some research are needed, but living in Italy i think we could be in a equal Lego market...i can suppose we both live in "nottoomuch" "nerd/game developed country" (opposite of 1-Usa, 2-Uk, 3- Ger)

Bet small and tread carefully before committing bigger budget into this game. Patience is key when it comes to Lego investing, don't expect any crazy ROI in short term.
