Great video! ICECO is fantastic. I've had an Iceco VL45 (not pro) turned ON for 2.5 years. It sits in the garage powered by 110V when I'm not travelling. As I write this from AZ, my garage 'cools' down to 95 at night during summer with daytime highs of about 102.. This is my third summer with the fridge sitting in the garage running 24/7. It hasn't missed a beat. Last year my indoor fridge/freezer failed and the ICECO doubled as a backup freezer so some expensive food didn't spoil.

I'm a few months late to the party but going to share my opinion anyway. The size or capacity of a fridge can be significantly smaller than an ice chest due to not needing ice. I'm not sure why this isn't brought up in fridge sizing videos. In an ice chest, a large amount of space is occupied by ice and this isn't an issue with a fridge. Also, you don't need to keep all of your drinks in the fridge. This is also a great way to make more room in the fridge Unlike an ice chest, just throw a few of each drink in the fridge and replace it with a warm one when you drink it. The fridge doesn't care. I have a 35L fridge and I can keep about 5 or 6 days worth of food in it (for one person). Great video. Really enjoyed it.

I just bought am ICECO APL55. I really like having a dual zone fridge or single zone depending on your needs. Having an ice cream sandwich after dinner at the campsite is wonderful.

I am a happy owner too. Used ours on a number of week long camping trips. Last year used it in garage continuously for 5 months to preserve our persimmons. I think I have the next model down.

I bought my fridge (different brand) because it had a Danfoss compressor in it. In my research I found that many brands use the Danfoss and that it's the best. They were mainly used in everything from campers and rv's to big rigs for years ... Then these fridges showed up. I have had mine for a number of years now. The other reason I bought my brand, was also cuz I could afford it at that time. Best bang for my buck. Back then they were really quite expensive. Ours is a 45 as well

Have had my eye on the Iceco VL45 for quite some time. Still haven't pulled the trigger on it. But having a fridge vs an ice chest is a game changer for sure! I borrowed a friends VL90 Pro D (YUGE!!!) and had tons and tons of room for a weeklong trip to Death Valley. Brought a ton of food back too. Biggest difference is that the food wasn't all soaked in water.

I made lots of research before I set my choice with ICECO. Right now, it is been running in my truck for two days powered by a 800 watt Bluetti and I still have enough battery for another day or two. It consumes very little electricity.

I thought y'all were using a Dometic 75L at one time? I was originally looking for something in 40-45L range, but I came across a special deal on a Dometic 75L dual-zone for $899 drop shipped direct from Dometic so I jumped on it. Still leaves me plenty of room in my '95 Suburban. I do like the double-opening lid on the ICECO though.

The main criteria for choosing the fridge I wanted was the compressor which is the heart of the fridge. I went with ICECO because it's compressor is made in Germany which means it's of good quality compared to most other brands that have Chinese made compressors running it.
@darrengray2309 Жыл бұрын
B4 commenting i think you may need to do a little research yes they are designed in Germany but are manufactured in Slovakia and China.

I would like to get VL60 Pro but unsure whether I would be hitting the back of the read seat - I I could close the rear door of my 4Runner 5 gen. The fridge would be sitting on a drawer system

the Setpower RV45S is the same fridge, but usually runs around $100- cheaper. Iceco and setpower are owned by the same company.
@james_the_darklord Жыл бұрын
I was going to buy the setpower I asked the company that sells it what's the difference in price. The setpower has a Chinese made compressor while the iceco uses a German made one hence the price difference.

I've had my SetPpower for over 2 years and it works great. I have the smaller TC35 model. I also bought a small Jackery 240. In my living room it ran the frig empty for 36 hours till dead. In a hot car in Florida full of food it ran the frig about 10 hours was down to 30%.
@james_the_darklord Жыл бұрын
@@darrengray2309 already did research on it that's why I settled for the iceco and their factory warehouse is just near where I live and I personally went there talked to the supervisor about it 🙄

We got a SetPower PT55 a few weeks ago. It’s dual zone and just perfect for us. We just got back from a weekend trip. The fridge side held at least 50 canned drinks ( beer, soda) and the “freezer” side was turned to fridge and held all of our food. Perfect. I would like to find a good organizer for constant things like condiments and that sort of thing. Any ideas?

That fridge is identical to the Kings branded fridge sold here in Australia same 5 year warranty. But like 90% of the 12v fridges sold around the world they are made in China and sold under many name brands.
