I use the chamber /delay combo also but for a different reason. I use delay on vocals to get a slap delay effect and the reverb in traditional way. Then using the balance (set to a programmable knob), I can transition between slap effect vs more reverb depending on the song. For example, if we are singing a hymn I may use mostly slap, but if we are singing a praise and worship song then probably use more reverb. It also sounds pretty good with 50% balance with both slap and reverb in the mix.

That’s a great way to use this effect and a great tip. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Dave, i watch nerely all ur Videos. I learn a lot from them. thanks a lot. Here again a small question. I dont see any GEQs on ur effect rack. So how dou u cut feedbacks of your monitors or how do u EQ you main PA. For this purpose u have to tage atlease 2 slots of the effectracs away / 1 for Monitors and 1 for Main PA). So then you are not so flexible with effects as u shown here. Is there any other way that u EQ ur PA and Monitors? Thanks in Advance
@AllamHouse3 жыл бұрын
For monitors we are using In-Ear Monitors so we do not have any feedback issues and therefore no need for a GEQ for monitors. Our PA only requires minimal EQ that is handled by the 6-band parametric EQ built into the channel strip for the mains.

Hi Dave, Thank you so very much with another awesome video. My first question is there a math formula to determine the decay and size; second, this is related to your other online stream videos, how do you keep your pastor/speaker to at least 0db when they start speaking low without having to ride the faders? Do you use a maximizer on your encoder? Is it at possible to share your scene with me so I can see exactly how we got the FX racks configured please? Regards, Daniel.

There is not a formula for calculating decay and size that sim aware of. I just spent time with recorded multi tracks (from my band) using headphones and soloing the reverb, then with band, then soloing... back and forth to get what I liked. For your pastor there are no tricks except proper gain structure, compression and limiting. I always have my pastor in compression with a soft knee (4-5 on the X32) and use the makeup gain on the compressor to raise the soft stuff. The channel then hits my output (main, MixBus, or matrix) which has more compression and then a limiter to further raise the levels. I’m looking to make my scene available on my site, but have to work with my web management team to get everything nailed down. If I am able to do this, I’ll make a short video explaining everything.

Hi , I am looking to get info on how to add effects to a house of 300 seats Mix on house and what effects to put on the LIVE stream
@AllamHouse4 жыл бұрын
Here is a video that I discuss my entire streaming setup. Check the description box for a quick link to the FX I am running. I run a reverb and a delay for the stream. I run the same FX (duplicated one different slots) for the house. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pn7RkpyreJpoiLs

where did you talked about that limiter? I'm curious about your settings when mixing for streaming

Dani, I don’t currently have a video specific to the limiter, but you can find it around minute 20 in this video here. There are links in the description to take you right to it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pn7RkpyreJpoiLs

Thanks so much! I have a room that seats about 275. What size would you recommend for the reverb ?
@AllamHouse4 жыл бұрын
Obviously, my main answer will be to use your ears and listen to the reverb to see how it compares to your room, but I would start with decay = 2.0s and size = 45. You’ll have to play with it from there to adjust to what you want.

Could you do a video on the x32 explaining limiters and compressors? I’m learning the x32 and would love to use it to its max potential.
@AllamHouse4 жыл бұрын
That would be fun. I’m assuming you mean the different items in the FX rack, not just the built in compressor that is on every channel?
@andreas-wismann2 жыл бұрын
Why wouldn’t you just run a sound demo?
@AllamHouse2 жыл бұрын
This. Idea was mostly a response to a question I received a bunch due to the fact that people didn’t want to take time to listen and play around with each reverb. When you look into the console there are a bunch of options, presets and settings that can be adjusted. Doing a video on each one would be an incredibly long video. I chose to simply offer my opinion. I hope that helps understand my rationale.
