Some more notes that i forgot in the video becuz i'm an idiot: The point at 20:27 regarding the flash is correct but i did not have the clips for it. It has the tendency to SOMETIMES add build up to an opponent that can be petrified consistently if shot right with the flash. Let's say a Minotaur ALWAYS gets petrified with a single flash. There are instances where the positioning might be bad and instead of getting petrified with the flash, he gets build-up petrification (where the enemy slows down but doesn't totally freeze up). . Another thing i missed is showcasing how Euryale's Head trivializes the translator's Wave 3 encounter. I had the footage but forgot. My favorite is GoW1, the extreme power of PR and AoH combined with the orb farm of MH make the game SO enjoyable for me but I agree that GoW2 magic is objectively better tought, more balanced. While playing GoW1 on Very Hard you can go through with only PR if you get it past level 1, it's that ridicolous but that's also why I love it, you truly feel like a God of War, the annihilator of living beings. GoW2 doesn't give me those extreme satisfying destructive vibes, maybe because I grew up with the first one.

Fun fact: In gow 1 when you raise the mega enemies and the circle button comes out above them the combo is cut off from the enemies because there is a grab to finish off the enemy or stun him When you use Poseidon's magic before the circle exits or when it appears while the enemy is in the air, you can use the grab and the circle above the enemy disappears and you can make a Death Combo on him! Nah. No need for justifications. They are bad. There are world ending stuff that Kratos is doing in Ascension. Combat lead was just lazy by not adding scaling to the elements and not having things work together properly.

Very good Video Zesty. I love watching these rankings of yours. So much Depth. But i have some questions: 1. How was Cronos Rage not included in the Top 5? (It has I frames, it stuns and neutrilizes the enemy and if you hit him you can instantly go for an OH, perfectly synced with your hit counter to unleash the Rage of the Titans and good damage.) 2.Typhons Bane is also good with all of its good uses , it has so much variety from long and even close range. + Expands it even more combined with the Petrification System. Especially the fight against the Barbarian (The charged attack shot that makes the hit counter go crazy) I dont really use it. But could have been in the Top 5 as well :)

Hilt of Skofnung in GoW Ragnarok is basically Army of Hades 2.0 and I loved it when you can used that special Relic Magic attack non-stop with the right perks. I wonder if other similar magic attack from Greek will return to the next GoW game after Ragnarok. Only can only hope.

The most OP magic attacks are clearly from GoW 1. All the rest of the games did fine aswell, but didnt quite match the feeling of the olympian powers like Poseidon's Rage, Zeus' Fury and ofc the most powerful magic attack in the entire series Hades Army.

And Euryale's Gaze was better than Meduza Gaze because it uses Less blue orbs. Zeus fury and Typhoon Bane? I will choose Zeus Fury because it looks cool. Only GOW 3 Magic Sucks besides Army of Sparta And Namesip Whip are good .

idk if it was metioned or was what you meant, but the Army of Sparta actually have an interesting mechanic to the QTE, (you said about waiting for the shields to get raised, or atleast it's what i understood) but if you press the button in an slower pace (no need to wait the shields) more arrows are shot and the magic takes much longer to finish. btw the game with the best magic imo is God of War 1, all of them look good and are awesome to use (and stronger ofc) and my favourite magic of all is Poseidon's Rage, it's OP, awesome, beautiful, etc.

Yeah They could Have done so much better in God of War 3 Magics, I also wish army of Hades could have come back for the claws of Hades instead of those useless magic selection option. Nemesis Whip magic attack and army of Sparta is what I care too , namesis whip magic feels like cronos rage from GOW2. They should have done atlas quake type of magic in Nemean Cestus. And Poseidon Rage instead of divine reckoning in opening Boss fight.

Zesty i have some constructive criticism, dude i think playing hype song after hype song in the background can get tiring on the ears, i think it would be better to do a more epic song ( for example god of war 2 atlas theme) maybe to introduce a topic and then something more chill after that (for example the underworld theme of god of war 3) maybe when you get to explaining something more in depth

Unrelated to the video: i just beat vergil on dmc3 dmd with no use of items i equipped beo and nevan quicksilver the stategy you did with the nevan helped me a lot the last time on my first dmd run i was trying to beat him for 40 minutes and i just used a gold orb and 2 full health items i thought it was impossible to beat him but after i did him 1 try with vergil on very hard (even tho vergil is broken) i got back into mission 20 and it took me 1 hour and some minutes to beat him without using any item i cant wait for the dmc 3 vergil boss stream (sorry for the whole book i wrote)

If you play with the sole purpose of destroying enemies on very hard, euryale, cronos, hammer and rage in god of 2 are incomparable, except for the rage in god 1 of course, which you use 3 times in the game.

I think only Poseidon Rage remains when Zeus transfer the power of kratos to Colossus of Rhodes in very beginning of the game later Kratos losses Poseidon Rage too to equip Blade of Olympus.

So, I was right about Ascension's magic system: it kinds sucks. Especially Poseidon's Ice spell, I mean why did they give statues so much HP? And why force you to max out element upgrades to gain access to them? Ascension also has way less magic attacks, which sucks. Sadly, yes. They all get nerfed with difficulty and the damage is poor. There's the Scourge of Erynis in GoS but that's really it. Charon's magic attack in CoO is also something but again, nothing to compete with the mainline games (although CoO has better magic than Ascension **as a whole**)
