I just recently upgraded to the 5 and I’ve been using performance rt the downgrade in graphics is barley noticeable but that 60fps is literally the best thing ever the game runs like a pc basically definitely makes up for reduced graphics by making movements way smoother even zooming across the city plus it’s snowing right now In the game so that ray tracing is Phenomenal

Fidelity is rather sexy - huge texture/LoD/lighting increase, but the 60fps option is so stable (and not a significant downgrade on SX/PS5) it's the obvious choice.

And the winner is..... PERFORMANCE RT. Even tho its not 4k original but upscaled instead to 4k resolution there is barely no difference with the original fidelity 4k. Combine this with the fact that performance rt has super smooth 60fps and this makes it the best mode of all. Fidelity is also quite laggy.. that 60fps that RT mode can offer makes a huge different!

Playing on PS5 along with LG OLED C1 65". I also chose Performance RT. I don't feel the resolution difference between Fidelity and Performance RT is obvious enough to sacrifice the smooth 60 FPS.

People separate resolution and FPS. When in reality better resolution includes better FPS. When you have it on fidelity mode it is at 30 FPS giving that blurry screen door effect when pan the camera around. Performance RT yes you an upscale dynamic 4K resolution targeting 60 FPS. At 60FPS it totally eliminates that screen door effect that blurs your screen giving a nice smooth clear picture no matter where you get the camera or how fast you’re going. That’s why it looks better. I usually never go for Fidelity mode unless it has 60 FPS on it. Performance RT mode is the best for GTA 5. It looks amazing and I had a hard time putting my PS5 controller down last night so I can go to sleep to go to work this morning.😏

If you don’t have a 4k monitor you won’t notice a difference It will just be 1080p on 30fps like it was before. The performance mode has to downscale the amount of reflection and attention to detail. Take horizon forbidden west as example. In resolution mode the game looks beautiful but feels a little clunky. In performance it feels really smooth but the game isn’t anywhere near as appealing. The real reason is because sometimes when they do different modes. The performance mode will often give off really bad shimmering or glitches with the graphics. Leading to the use of fidelity mode. They are entirely different. While performance mode may make you game feel like it looks better it’s isn’t any better. The only reason it feels different is because your fps is raised by 30 which causes everything to looks more smooth and less blurry. But doesn’t actually change the graphics at all just how you visualize them.

I feel like Performance RT actually looks worse than Performance somehow. The ray tracing effects aren't that noticable, even on Fidelity. On Performance RT, you lose a lot of shadows from plants and small objects and, and it ends up looking worse than the Performance mode.

Preformance RT will be best for most peple becouse when you drive fast the full visuals wont be neccecairy and when you drive slow you will want quite goor graphics. Also an advice in setting upp HDR, turn it down untill the logo isnt vissable any more or if you have the white car screen then go as low so you still can se the details in the shadows, hope this will be good for anyone

Your right. Lowering the brightness increases the contrast. And males GTA look more like a mod. My Brightness was on max and it looked awful. Even on ps4 it makes the game look cinematic. So when I get home to play this it's going to look like a new game for me.

Whatever Insomniac did to get ray traced reflections running at 60fps in Mile Morales other devs need to do too. The world in MM is easily as complex as GTA V, it should be able to be done. If I'm being honest I see very little difference between performance and performance RT in GTA V.

If I am playing Story Mode I will choose Fidelity mode because I'm not too bothered about the framerate as I just want to sit back relax and take in all of the extra details and make use of true 4k resolution. But when I jump into GTA Online, I would choose Performance RT as those extra few framerates would help in competitive PVP situations and it's generally much more faster paced compared to story mode.

Everyone said there was gonna be 3 performance modes and the series s don't even get ray tracing you might get better colors but your car won't even reflect you but the scenery you're around instead no missions no storymode update can't even skip the prologue because Rockstars job of switching save files over was unbearably hard and all my controller presets were defaulted . Rectical size, expanded map hud, etc only good thing I could say is the driving feels slightly tuned and the graphics are turned from lowest of the low to maybe medium in some aspects

I'm playing on the LG C1, and while I want use the TV's insane framerate, I'm happy playing on Fidelity Mode as it just looks a lot nicer in my opinion, sharper image and more vibrant colors. I did try Performance Mode can't notice a difference apart from the lower resolution?

I have the LG C1 as well which handles up to 120fps, I certainly noticed a significant frame rate difference between Fidelity Mode and Performance RT mode, so maybe there some issue with your TV or game. The graphical difference is pretty minimal between Fidelity and Performance RT mode, but the frames are significant.

Yeah I’m on Xbox series s and I have the same issue. The fidelity looks really good but the performance doesn’t which I wasn’t expecting it to but it doesn’t even feel smoother. And performance graphics are sooo bad… like it’s so blurry.

For me, 'fidelity mode' is the reason for my PS5 GTA V purchase. 4k, HDR on a 4K mini-LED screen, ray tracing, tactile feedback on the controller when shooting, etc.; a near-decade's worth of patches and QOL improvements, with a new HUD for this version, etc. /ymmv

There’s no difference with this new version. Like none whatsoever. I’ve looked at them all side by side and the new version looks just like pc with some saturation. Also there’s no ray tracing it’s that old cubic shadowing effect from the old consoles

The 4K looks great. Sucks it's locked 30 but has anyone notice when infidelity mode it's a clean image but in the background like buildings in the distance seem very blurry. Kind of annoyed as it's played at 4K

I think it’s because usually th background buildings fade away when your too far so they try to keep them in the picture remind you this game came out in 2014 they will have to re design the whole game to make everything look 4k and high quality

@@leavemealonefxg2568 yap, and wgen turning the camera there's blur. I turned down the motion blur in the settings, but still it's there. You have to play in Performance RT mode or performance mode

@@afrosrb7828 30fps always had blur and motion blur helps "smooth it out" from looking jaggy. It's really noticeable on big TVs these days vs what we used to play on (that's why switch 30fps games look okay on that little screen). That blur is there no matter what because that's what 30fps looks like. 60fps with motion blur off, if you tv is newer and fast hz, is why when we go back to 30 it looks worse than we remember. I always play at 60fps when the option is available. Those of us used to 60fps have a hard time going back to 30, but if you play for a while, your eyes begin to adjust to 30 a bit better. I'm excited for ps6 to hopefully always be 60fps or higher at 4k resolution. The days of fidelity 30fps should be going away soon like it did on PC a while ago. 60fps on pc is considered bare minimum lol

Did i miss something? I dont see any difference between fidelity perf perf rt on my 1080p monitor? Only difference was from 30 to 60fps. Do i need to switch on my 4k TV? Its so weird because im testing the Control game on my 1080p monitor but i can see the difference between RT and performance on that game. Thanks i hope someone will help me.

I have a 1080p monitor too. Im surprised you can't see a difference. Fidelity mode looks much sharper and cleaner than the performance modes. As soon as you go from fidelity to performance while looking at a car You can see the car becomes way less reflective and loses a bit of detail. If you look grass and bush etc you can't that fidelity mode looks much sharper, even look at your characters hair. Try this drive to the beach on the sand. Get out the car and look look at the car, Sand etc
