Got the older Omen 17 an016na with GTX 1050i upgraded to 16GB Ram and replaced with M2 Nvme 256GGB SSD, was a pain sorting that as Bios doesn't have M2 SSD support. Had it for 4 years now. 7the Gen Intel i7 still powering like a beast. Just need to buy a new battery replacement. I'm looking to buy a newer model with atleast RTX 30 SERIES card.

I have the omen 17 with 3070 and just sold my 15 with 3070 and r7. It is honestly a tier above in performance acoustics and temps. Only plus the r7 had was weight and I think the colors looked better by default I had the qhd screen on both.

@@S1L3NT__ 17 inch HP is only Intel you have to go 16 or 15 to get 5800h. But I think the noise on my omen is pretty decent. It can be quiet in balanced mode and with undervolt performance mode can be close to background noise levels. Unless you are really pushing it but I never hear it scream at max fans unless I set it there.

I have the omen 17 with rtx 3060 and its been a joy to use. Even with gpu always on, performance mode, with browsing doing that it gets 4.5 hours. Gaming with that its 2.5 hours. I've gotten 7 with battery saver on. My laptop fully charges and doesn't power bleed even on full on gaming plugged in. These laptops are not talked about enough esp the omen 17. Its kinda like finding a secret garden surrounded by pillaging of shortages and out of stock that's common with rtx 30 laptops today.

@@Xlub thanks Raj, I got the laptop with 17 screen and 3070 gpu and 144 hz. I am using it with my hdmi to type C Thunderbolt cable. I will get a higher refresh monitor because 144 on the laptop is nice but I want more and want a display port for my monitor too.

I have to replace my Omen 16 charger. having to buy quickly, trying to understand the wide range of non-brand options. Almost all of those I find mention the laptop models the charger is compatible with, and not once does it mention the 16 models. It is always the 15 and 17 series. So, my question to the world: do these models use the same chargers?

Same bro no clue how he is doing that either.. mine will last about 1hr and 45 mins while gaming... and about 3hr and 30 mins streaming content (at 3 quarter brightness).

Check to see if your desktop apps are using your rtx card. I had to force some apps to use the internal GPU and after doing that got much better battery life. Prime example being the steam and web browser apps.

the 17 touchpad is a DISASTER. got one new, it slid around constantly, yes, the trackpad itself slid around and jammed itself up and you'd have to forcibly wiggle/push it back to center constantly. sent it in for repair they said they replaced everything and it still did it. sold it for a HUGE loss

How was the temperature of your laptop for 3 weeks of owning?

@@devigardchemixsupremix9352 it had some trouble with game like elden ring etc, like 95 degree to 100 depents on area (max setting), then tried some energy settings, all updates except BIOS (too scared to touch that), then it rounded to 85 average on all games in max setting without coolpad fans on. some time you get around 95-100 but if I restart pc once, it get back to average number again. So far I love it!

@@restoredname7989 thanks dude. First laptop I’ve gotten since 2012 lol. My Sager np9150 can still play most modern titles on low to medium settings. It’s a beast for it’s time - it has 16gb ram which was nuts for 2012 but it has a lot of firmware issues with windows 10 since the manufacture’s (intel, amd etc) components don’t have updated drivers. I bet it’d be blazing fast if I reverted to windows 7… maybe Linux 🤷‍♂️
