While editing this video, we heard that the Indonesian immigration is enforcing the requirements for certain visas, such as the B211. So make sure you arrange it all correctly to avoid getting deported, which can happen if you conduct activities such as actively working within Indonesia when this is not allowed on the type of visa you were granted. Hi - I’m considering Jakarta as I’ve been there before but just on short visits. I speak a bit of bahasa Indonesian and am studying now. I’m considering Jakarta - around hublife. I have an Airbnb for 2 weeks in January. I’ll try and negotiate with the owner for a year contract ( $1000+/-?) if I like the apartment. But the whole visa process is a little unsettling. I’ll contact your cousin when I get into Jakarta in January and see what he/she says. Good luck on your adventures too. However, I have a question, I just got a “Product Procurement” (B211-A) visa to Indonesia, visa process was done by a lawyer in the Indonesia and I’m hoping to visit in 2 weeks time. 1. I am hoping to know if it’s possible for me to enter from a different airport, as I’m closer to Medan, but the address on my visa is Jakarta. 2. Hi we are happy to hear you found the information in our video useful. To be very honest, we are not 100% sure if you can enter from a different airport then stated on your visa. But from our experience we would say it is possible. We once entered Jakarta but our sponsor was living in Medan. And I know that visa agencies in let say Bali can arrange your visa but you can enter in Jakarta. To be on the safe side, you can always contact the Indonesian Embassy located in the country you are staying now. Hope we have been of some help! Enjoy your stay in Indonesia. Matt and Monico

Hi, thank you for your comment. The retirement visa is considered a KITAS, so it is a temporary resident visa. You can only apply for a permanent visa after extending it for 5 consecutive years. I do believe that you need to arrange a visa agency to act as a sponsor in order to get a retirement visa. So this visa consultant can give you all the requirements and exact details for a retirement visa. We also heard that they will be changing the retirement visa into a 'second-home' visa. Not sure if this has happened already, so you might need to check that out too. Hope we have been of some help. Cheers! Matt and Monico

@@makethemove101 I checked with a few consultants and I'm getting different answers on government policies and very different prices. I'm one year shy of 55 so I have some time before applying for the retirement visa. Looks I will do the 60 day visa and just renew for one year. But ultimately I want citizenship which I hear I can do in 5 years, this means giving up my American citizenship but I'm okay with that. The big issue now is that i just got a bengal cat and I'm hearing that will take 6 months to get approval but my Vietnam visa will expire again next month so now I have to leave my cat in Vietnam which sucks. Also cost to ship my motorcycle appears to be not be worth it which also sucks and I will have to take a loss on this new bike. Bottom line is that I need a home and a place I know I can stay forever with no more visas.

Hi Michael, if I'm not wrong....if you get a permanent visa for Indonesia, this doesn't mean you will also hold an Indonesian passport. You will still hold your American citizenship unless you choose otherwise. But just don't forget that traveling with an Indonesian passport is a pain. You will be applying for visa's even more. But I think, no matter where you move, you will be dealing with visa's for a while. We will be focusing on Malaysia soon, so not sure how their visa policies are. I have an idea that they are more clear. Perhaps an idea for you? You might have less trouble with bringing your cat and motorcycle. I can imagine that it would be difficult to leave them both behind. Good luck on figuring things out. Monico

Hello! Thanks for providing the information. A little bit out of topic and if you don't mind me asking, do you guys know the regulations about vaccination and insurance requirements to enter Indonesia? We are from Hungary and it's said that we need to be vaccinated at least 14 days before the departure date. What does that really mean? I mean, so, if we got our shot a month before we depart, it's not valid and we need to be vaccinated again? Secondly, we are required to have the "proof of ownership of health insurance which includes financing of COVID-19 and medical evacuation to a referral hospital" to apply for a VoA. Do you guys know any information where we can get such insurance? Thanks a bunch in advance! Wish you a nice stay in Indonesia! 😄

Hi Elsa, thank you for contacting us. Regulations, especially those concerning COVID-19 and vaccinations change continuously so we can not say for 100% sure if our answer is current. But so far we know that if you are holding an Hungarian passport you can purchase a VOA at the airport in Indonesia. As for vaccinations, if you read that you have to be vaccinated at least 14 days before departure, then it means that you should have been vaccinated anytime before those 2 weeks. So for example if you got vaccinated a month before departure then you are ok. As long was it wasn't within those 14 days before departure (so not like 8 days before you leave....). As for health insurance, we can not find such a regulation. But I can imagine that if you have a good travel insurance then this should be enough. You can always call the Indonesian embassy in Hungary to double check before leaving. We hope have helped you out and thanks for watching our video! Cheers, Matt and Monico

@hartonotai Hi! Thank you for your comment. If you are married to an Indonesian who still holds an Indonesian passport then you can go for the spouse visa, also known as a spouse-sponsor visa. The Indonesian embassy should be able to help you out and if you are in Indonesia already there are lots of visa agencies that can make the whole process much easier. Hi, thanks for you question. If we got it right, you have a KITAS and you want to apply for a visit visa for South Korea? We can't see why did isn't possible. These are two different types of visa: temporary residency visa for Indonesia and a visit visa for South Korea. Hi thank you for your question. Visa is so complicated, it all depends on various factors. Is your fathers wife still Indonesian (still have a Indonesian passport)? We can imagine that your father can enter on a dependent visa if they are married long enough. Kids should be able to join to. They can apply at an Indonesian embassy in the Philippines but also once they are in Indonesia. To be on the safe side, check the embassy in the Philippines to know which documents you exactly need. You can always apply for an extendable social visa in the Philippines and arrange the dependent visa once you are in Indonesia. Hope we have clarified it. Let us know if you need more info! Hi, it all depends on what type of work you will be doing. You will only get a working visa if you do a type of job that can not be done by an Indonesian. Usually, these are pretty specialized jobs. Or you can work for an international company that sends you to Indonesia to work. We can't really think of any other ways to work in Indonesia, to be honest. Cheers, Matt and Monico

Hi, thank you for your comment/question. Yes you can apply for a retirement visa. There is a 1 year and a 5 year retirement visa for Indonesia: The main requirements are: you must be 60 years or older, have proof of a monthly income of USD3.000 or USD36.000 a year, for the 5 year visa you need to open a state owned bank account with a savings of USD50.000. Hi there! Thanks for reaching out and it's wonderful to hear that you met a lovely Indonesian girl. We checked if you can obtain a visa upon arrival in Indonesia with a Pakistani nationality. Unfortunately, you can not. So you will need to contact an Indonesian Embassy or a Visa Agent in Indonesia (online) who can arrange a B211 visa. This visa is extendable and you can stay in Indonesia for at least 6 months. From there on you can check what or options are. There are more possibilities if you were to get married. @@makethemove101 This is what I found. "The maximum period of Social and Cultural Visa that can be granted by the Embassy is 60 (sixty) days". And later on they state "Note: if a longer period of stay for this visit is needed, the company/institution in Indonesia who sponsors for the applicant must submit the application through Immigration Office in Indonesia. Once approved by the Immigration Office, the applicant then need to visit the Embassy to collect the visa and provide all the requirements as mentioned above, plus a copy of Approval Letter from the Immigration Office." So I leave Belgium with a 60day visa and once in Indonesia we have to go to the immigration.

@@patjuss Yes that is correct. That is what we did when living in Bogor. We would go to the immigration in Jakarta. It is a simple process. You can also arrange it through a visa agent. They will be your sponsor and even go to the immigration for you etc. so you don't have to worry about any paperwork.
