As a new player to the game, I personally find the crafting system overwhelming and under explained. It would be nice to see them make it more user friendly. Or in my case, idiot friendly lol

Apparently Lolcohol is doing an ultimate noob's guide to crafting starting soon. I find him super informative, and it sounds like he will start on a really basic level and take it up from there. Maybe watch one of his videos and if you like the way he relays information keep an eye on the channel in the coming week ;)

Re: the helm mod that lowers nearby resists, if you're playing an Inquisitor or have any other means of ignoring resists, please know that ignoring resists means lowering resists has no value to you. Ignoring resists means you also ignore negative resists so the mod won't have any value if you're near crit cap on Inquis.

I started playing this league. I honestly have no clue what is good and what is not, but I found some influenced boots the other day that the loot filter marked slightly differently than the other influenced items. Made me curious, so I picked it up. I ended up selling it for 3 ex. I previously didn't have any exalts and maybe 100 chaos. That was quite a find.

I found the POB notes page to be the best place to put that list of useful influence items that I'm looking for, it's probably my most used page once I hit 90ish (as I have poor memory) but I feel like people criminally underuse it.

Thanks for explaining this a bit, the first league I ever played I think I kept everything at every item level, lmao was so afraid to sell something worth a ton of loot, lol. But like you said it all comes with experience, looking things up on POE ninja really helped to give me an idea of what is what and what to look out for. There is so much to learn in this game and I love that, sitting at 1200 hours now and I still learn something new every day.

Full set of unidentified influenced items (i.e. chaos recipe) = 4 exalt shards; identified = 2 exalt shards. Very useful for SSF.

Coming back to this game from maybe a year+ time off, maybe more. Totally different game. I think the last time I played the original Masters were still allowed to be in your base but maybe I played when they switched that in Betrayel. So overwhelmed with eveything. Doing maps fine but there is so much information I don't even know where to start. Ziz explains things great but he may as well be speaking another language in this. Also since when did all the hate for Trade leagues happen, everyone on youtube/Twitch play SSF and many people knock Trade.

Compliment - This is information that took me a LONG time to figure out. One of the best video ideas you've had. Awesome work! Criticism - I'd suggest trying to find a qualifier other than "obviously". Most of the stuff you say is obvious actually isn't, and you probably don't even realize you're saying this. Kinda like how people overuse "literally". You can try things like "incidentally", "as a matter of fact", "it happens that", "likewise", "luckily", "unfortunately", "of course", or something better to suit the situation. Lots of love!

With just a little bit of game knowledge the things he describes as obvious are indeed obvious. Titanium spirit shields are indeed the obviously a T1 ES shield base. Two-tone boots are indeed obviously a t1 boots base. These videos aren’t meant for someone completely new to the game.

It's common criticism for technical writing and talks in general. "Obvious" is overused and what's obvious to one person is not obvious to another. It makes people feel dumb when they didn't know the so-called obvious thing. There is one exception though: Extreme sarcasm. "Water is wet, obviously." But that's not how it's being used here.

And also, if you're SSF, apply to this what Tarke Cat said about looting stuff. If you don't plan on playing melee builds, font pick up trashy influenced melee weapons like axes etc. Just get the absolute best 84/86 2 top bases. You do not need a stag tab full of garbage foils and axes when you won't play those builds.

So you were saying to keep the best base type of each item, but how much does the item level factor in? Would you still keep an influenced Vaal Regalia if it was item level 73? From what I've been reading around, most items (excluding the special base types like you said) are pretty worthless to even pick up if they aren't high item level (80+), even if they are rare or influenced

Pick up all influenced rare items, and even if you not gonna use em or they're trash, you can use either the UNID'd Exalt Vendor recipe (like the 2c Chaos recipe) for 4 Ex shards (They all have to be the same influence type) OR ID'd, you get 2 Per Set...Just thought I'd add that in there for those who tend not to go balls to the wall mapping in under 3 minutes per map, and can afford to leisurely do so.

Believe me, there are more influence base items to drop to fulfill both the need to get decent bases with good mods and vendor the ID'd and UNID'd trash bases. Either way, I spend very little time in this process so to me its not a trap tyvm

If you are juicing low tiers you can generate a ton of weak influence bases on low ilvls; if it's still early league, keep the ex shard recipe in mind. Ammy/ring still your bottleneck. Whether this is interesting depends on ex price and trade/ssf obviously

poedb.tw/us/mod.php?cn=Sceptre This is every mod a scepter can roll, split into prefixes and suffixes and sorted by source (base, influence, incursion, and the crafting methods, bench, essence, fossil). Look at the different influences and see if any one mod sticks out as super strong for your build. Another way of doing it is building the item in pob - select a base, look at what prefix and suffix it can roll, and then add an influence and look again, new options will be there. It's a bit harder to tell which mods belong to the influence like this, but it has the advantage if you imported your current character that you can watch on the fly as the impact on your dps changes when you try different influences and rolls, so you can figure out which option is stronger for you.
