No one else provides the kind of ergo info that you do, and you do it so well too. Thank you for your labors of love. As someone with a 36" inseam, I would not appreciate where the knees would fall on this bike. As for apes of any length, mini included, I would receive a benefit from their closer proximity to me. However, and if my forearms are raised higher than my elbow, blood circulation becomes a concern for me on longer rides. Thanks again.

I love the 48 for having forward controls. I'm 5'10 and it just was so comfortable. I can not imagine riding a bike with mid controls for long periods of times.

I'm still hoping to see the Bronx. I'd like to see it in both 90hp and 150hp. I think it would cause quite a stir.
@stephenchigwidden75042 жыл бұрын
@HahrtDood a naked sports with Harley davidson written on the tank. A Suzuki GSX has 150hp and they sell millions. Sure maybe the Bronx might be a little lacking in some Ares but I'm sure it would still sell its brains and. 🧠

Thanks for this video! I have a '23 Nightster, and I'm 6'-0" with a 32" inseam. I don't like forward controls myself, I don't feel like I have as much control of the machine when my feet are in front of me. The mini apes do look like they would let me sit up straighter, so I may give those a shot.

I'm 170 cm (5-7) and i find mid-control on my Nightster a perfect fit for me Now waiting for aftermarket seat / mini ape as the stock handlebar forces me to lean forward a little too much and the seat is uncomfortable once the torque kicks in

I’m 5’10 (just shy of 6’ in boots) and the bike feels perfect for me. I want apes and forward controls for longer rides. My knees start to hurt after about an hour and a half of riding. I’m trying to find the forward controls

A friendly warning for those interested in the Nightster. I’ve been waiting since June for the brake line necessary to install longer handlebars. Now backordered for the fourth time until October 27th, 2022.

Muss man nur die Bremsleitung austauschen ? Oder muss man auch den Kupplungszug, Bremszug & Kabel verlängern ?

do you have a good aftermarket option for purchasing the mini apes specifically that are a little more cost effective than the Harley ones and also a cable kit?

I had my first forward control bike with a 2010 1600 Thunderbird. Unfortunately for me I could never get used to putting my feet forward. I guess more importantly the my entire weight was on my tailbone without my legs providing any relieve. Maybe my last problem was being locked into one position on the seat. That was just me on that bike I haven't tried others, but it bothered me enough that I had a standard set of foot pegs made.
@BikesILike2 жыл бұрын
Taller guys tend to go looking for forward controls just to give themselves some legroom. It's not ideal, like you said Flat Cap, carrying your weight on your tailbone. But Harley has done a great job here. At 6'!" I would be very happy with the standard controls. An example of that is the Scout Bobber Twenty. It's seating position and forward controls put my legs at an almost 90 degree bend, very comfortable.

@ttmadness342 жыл бұрын
It actually looks more comfortable with the standard footpegs for taller riders. The thing is also when you spec it with these extras maybe you should consider the scout rogue which has the apes and forward controls as standard.

I will do a comparison with the Rogue next.

I have both forward controls and mini apes .I regret both I am 5"6'' . The relocated brake master cylinder makes the rear brake feel useless will not stop you at all . Mini apes have too lighter feel on the front end . About to change back to mid controls . will as 2" spacer to the riser with stock bars for better control .
@BikesILike5 ай бұрын
Yeah, height will play a big factor. Sounds like your rear brake needs bleeding?
@MrEiniweini2 жыл бұрын
I really want to find out if the mini apes fit the Sportster S. They seem to have the same diameter of 3/4 to 1/2 at the controls. I am just not sure if the thumb controls lock into the bars the same between Sportster S and Nightster. The thing is, for right now there are neither risers nor bars for the Sportster S to change ergonomics. The cables and wires look like they could take a 2" riser (maybe 3"). They will be there one day I guess. The issue with buying a first generation bike is the time it takes the aftermarket to stock.
@BikesILike2 жыл бұрын
That's interesting. I thought Harley would've had accessories for the Sportster S by now. Especially as the Nightster has accessories at launch.
@MrEiniweini2 жыл бұрын
@@BikesILike Disappointingly, there are some basic Harley made parts but none yet available in Australia and no bars or risers. That all has to be aftermarket.

Can anyone explain why Harley didn’t give it a second front rotor?
@BikesILike2 жыл бұрын
I don't think it needs it to be honest. My bike's the same weight and I have the same single 320 mm disc on the front and I have all the braking I need. It's very effective.
@DefZen3432 жыл бұрын
@HahrtDood i have a 1200C sportster, 1 disk, i can lock the disk with 2 fingers if i wanted to, the Nightster is much lighter with Brembo brakes, i doubt it needs a 2nd disk, not worth the pain of bleeding 2 brakes and difficulty in cleaning the wheel... im not a big guy either, 5ft 8inches tall, 160 pounds.

@@BikesILike Jolly good to hear. This is a game of inches as your handlebar adjustment video highlighted. It's a nice bike, I think Harley Davidson have put out a bike that has its own unique character and will last. It's not as full on as the Sportster S which isn't a bad thing.
