One thing I learned after installing a similar two-horn (410Hz/510Hz ) set up is that if they are near any excessive hot zones on the bike they are very negatively impacted and they fail to produce any loud sound at all! So, now I am working on finding a good spot to mount them away from very hot zones on the motorcycle. Good review! Have a great day!

@@RevelatorAlf It's crazy because when I first installed and tested them they were perfectly LOUD!!! But, after I ran the motorcycle up to operating temps they totally failed! I read the instructions on the installation sheet … and it specifically says... "Don't install near any hot areas on the vehicle" There you go!

You say horn install, but I never saw you install the horn… Was looking for more instruction. I’m sure it’s quite direct but it’s nice to know.

Very informative. I have a 2013 Ultra Classic and have been searching, since I bought it, for a better horn. I like how your video is not only very informative, but you don't push one horn over the other - you explain the pro's vs con's of the horns in the video and make it quite clear it is individual preference. I learned a little bit about motorcycle horns - didn't know about the screw on the back to adjust. Nice video. Really nice. Appreciate you taking the time to post.

@@RevelatorAlf I recently got an old '81 Kawasaki KZ305A CSR that doesn't have a working horn. I've decided that instead of replacing it with another OEM horn, it would be better to upgrade it. This is exactly the kind of video I was looking for. You've made me much more informed about my future purchase decision. Also glad you don't try to push one over the other.

@@RevelatorAlf any way we can get an air horn specific comparison review? I've been trying to figure out what a good air horn for the bike would be. I've seen people put train horns on but that seems a little excessive.

The red horns (I had a set of dual flamms, just another brand) and they are LOUD! best if you run a relay with them!

Bearing in mind you are trying to get the attention of drongoes in cars with the windows wound up and sound system blaring. Lots of guys had those red Fiams(?) mounted on Laverda, Ducaties, etc.I had a set up like that on a GS1000 with a black three quarter fairing. More worried about function, saving my neck over good looks.

Good video. Also the video previous about parts was good info for H-D owners. I was just lucky to try the reg cover for my 18 Fatboy and it fit just fine. That was the start of me just trying parts that they said would not fit. I found that about 40% fit that Harley said didn’t. You would think someone at Harley would check these out. Keep up the good work.

Very interesting informative vid it's something many bikers don't think about and often forget where the horn button is, horrible feeling when some prats about to back there car into you!! I,ve used the dual horn set up on previous bikes, but didn't like it from a looks point of view. The horn on my v rod is surprisingly loud , so even amongst Harley's there not all the same. ultimately purely for loudness you can't beat a true air horn but mounting the compresser and horns in any thing other than a full dresser is almost impossible!

Mate another great vid as I was looking on google for the best horn upgrades and your vid showed on my search and I immediately clicked on it and as always an easy understandable vid and again thanks again very helpful. Maybe one extra bit would have been the current draw of the standard horn and the others to allow knowledge of whether you need a bigger relay.

RevelatorAlf if you want to test out a crazy loud motorcycle horn check out "motohorn", think their website was motohorn.com if i remember correct. Bought one off their website and this thing is massive, but loud. Put it on '11 CVO Ultra so probably a challenge getting it mounted on Softail, but dang that horn is something different. Those guys have lots of Harley fans who have it installed and thought it might be good video content for you.

Should probably mention that decibels are a logarithmic measurement. In other words, 104 is more than 10 times more pressure than 103. 300 would be nearly a billion times more. In fact, 500 decibels would destroy all life on the planet. That is why 103 vs 104 sounds so much louder. It is.
