"what you like best" is definitely the right answer. I personally can't stand running but love the variety of movements done in crossfit. Every now and then I have to run but in small doses it is tolerable for me. Gymnastics, olympic weightlifting, functional movements as well as brute strength exercises on the other hand are far more fun for me but I also understand that it is a lot to learn and that many people simply don't want to do it.

I have to say I regard myself as a hybrid athlete. I love the CrossFit but also the triathlon too. Right now I’m trying to balance CrossFit/Hyrox training for an event next month with swim training for masters as well as a 70.3. Just love the variety

Great point re the 'sunk cost fallacy'. As someone who has transitioned to more hybrid training, its easy to let it get you down as your lifts start to dip a bit! But you have to focus on the next challenge and hold on to the strength you can in the process.

First off sick studio! Also, in my opinion Hybrid training is the best in my opinion. I feel its easier to manage and doesn’t HAVE TO involve as much as cross fit does

CrossFit is the best use of time but the point of CrossFit is to support and supplement the rest of your life. My triathlon and run times are as good as they were when I only did hybrid style training without as much time invested. My golf game is also better even though I only play a few times a year now. I also really value the community aspect of CrossFit and, like James said, it’s something I stick with. But supplementing CrossFit with hybrid training as well is ideal for my lifestyle and goals.

Great topic, I have been a hybrid athlete for 10+ yrs, but I really wanted to compete, so I found CrossFit in the last 2 yrs and love the competition and community, but admittedly I am no longer a good runner anymore

Great topic! I went from rugby, to hybrid, did an Ironman and cycling challenges and then to CrossFit. I love the social side of CrossFit but I did enjoy the solitude of hybrid! I've sort of settled in a middle ground of the two, using open gym in the CrossFit gym and trying to stay injury free

Hybrid and crossfit are two side of the same coin there's a reason I keep my abs 11 months out of the year and can run 15 miles at any time just for fun , hybrid has the advantage in terms of accessibility and affordability

CrossFit is a full-body workout that can help. It is an appropriate option for those that are just starting out and those that have years of experience in training and exercise.
