WHICH IS DUBAI'S BEST SHAWARMA? LAFFAH OR BELAD AL SHAM? I went on a dubai street food challenge with Harry ‪@thehealchef‬ to judge which Shawarma is better.
We judged the Shawarma on Bread, Garlic Sauce, Value for Money and Overall Flavour & Quality. Which one is going to come out on top?
The first restaurant we visited was ‪@laffahrestaurant7697‬ in Sharjah, one of the most popular Syrian Shawarma restaurants in the UAE. We tried their Chicken Shawarma, Beef Shawarma, Broasted Chicken and Crinkle Cut Potato Fries.

Our next stop was Belad Al Sham in Qusais, another Syrian Shawarma restaurant which has been popular for many years. We ordered their Chicken Shawarma and Mexican Chicken Shawarma (spicy).

Dubai's best shawarma is hands down Sultan Arab's juicy meat and chicken shawarmas! Comes in so many sizes, right from the regulars to the mind boggling 1 metre, packed with juicy tender meat it's perfect and reasonable too! It surely deserves some recognition!

Respect to you guys … a lot of shawarmas out there but the spices and the marinate is a real key, and with garlic getting more expensive and oils getting more expensive, a lot of restaurants will go to lower qualities and change recipes… good luck to your hunt 🌶

That's the Laffah Sharjah branch. The Dubai branches are more expensive and less tasty imo. But the place is legendary in the UAE.

In Laffah, the shawarma you had is Large. 7dhms is for small, and the fries comes with the fried chicken not paid separately.

Actually the best shawarma use to be at Beirut Grill back in the 80's and 90's but since 2000's the originals management is not there any more, so the whole place has gone down. Beirut grill has been around since 1976

I’m Deira next to gold land building,it’s have one small shawarma shop on corner ,opposite of big car parking . That is the best shawarma in Dubai . 100% don’t know the name of the place but trust me ….omg . Yes and it’s cost like 3 aed 😂

5000 shwarma a day means 150000 a month. If they make profit even a dollar per sharwma. They make around 💰1.5 million from that point in annually. That is actually huge, consider they have many such points.

You guys should try Rawabi Al Sham shawarma in Al Barsha 1, one of the best shawarma for sure. The bread is softer and the sauce is delicious.

You need to visit Fujairah city In UAE to get your hands on the best shawarma with great value on money and taste buds. I recommend Al shamma cafeteria and Babylon cafeteria in Fujairah. You gonna thank me

Oh btw, do try Forat Restaurant as well for their meat shawerma. They've been around for 30-40 years and have been a local favourite in this part of Dubai It's situated right in front of Ghurair Mall

Does anyone know, when the first Shawarma place open in Dubai? I heard the first Shawarma to Dubai and Gulf region has a whole were were Egyptian and Iraqi versions, not Lebenese/Syrian, because 1950s and 60 saw huge infulx of Egyptians and Iraqi workers to Dubai, the Lebenese and Syrians only arrive in the 1970s

What I dont like about Laffah is that, their fried chicken is loaded with the same garam masala kinda seasoning that they use on those fries, and shawarmas are just Ok Ok.

​ @Just Food I am just going to reply to you under my brothers comment, I am a Shawarma freak, are you willing to go out of Dubai to try Shawarma from other Emirate ? Laffah is the only best place in Dubai, hands down, their garlic is on point, you get the best taste if you order normal size shawarma, the big size is dry in between, if you tell them special shawarma, they will serve you with the chicken on top. If you want spicy, let them know, they will serve you with spicy garlic sauce, at least the one in Sahara center mall Laffah branch did. You might also want to try Al Hallab Restaurant & Sweets, they server Lebanese style shawarma in pita bread. Guys me and my missus went to both these spots yesterday 26/08/22 and trust me they are both terrible. Laffah gets a 2/10 and Belad Al Sham a 4/10. This guys don't know what the are talking about. Helen's kitchen on Edgware Rd destroys both of these places. If you know you know.
