Have a 12hp Hangkai 2 stroke that gets my 10.5 Bris inflatable to 18mph

So 9.9hp is about 24% more power and its about 24% faster. That couldnt be any more perfect.

Actually I think if the 9.9 had the correct pitch prop and the motor was on a smaller boat it would smoke that merc

You should put them on a 12 light alluminum boat. Not as a Kicker on a large boat. My old 8HP 2 stroke Mariner would easily plane my 12 Ft Starcraft. Eventually bought a 15 HP Johnson. Even faster loaded with 4 pasengers, cooler and fishing gear.

@@WillyK51 They are both LS and XLS, my 12ft is for SS only so kind of stuck using on my big boat. Thanks for the comment

@@OutboardMotorFun He, He, Imagination is just a C-Clamp away. A Couple 2x4 clamped to the transom, a custom transom riser. Just Ribbing. Tie the motor just in case

Hello willy, I also have a mariner 8 hp 2st, is the difference noticeable with a 15hp 4st? And in fuel consumption is there much difference?

@@pedro_jose119 There is a big Dif in Weight, between 2 Stk and 4 Stk. But as far as eficiency, a 4 stk a bit more. BUT in that power range 5 Galon Tank will take you very FAR. The Size of the boat maters.My very old Johnson 15 Hp would plane a old heavy 16 Ft Al. Boat. But it's not ideal. A 9.9 hp 2 Stk is Identical to a 15 Hp 2 Stk. in size(RPM make up for HP). Unless Forced to go 4 Stk By law/reg. a 2 Stk, cheaper and will last for ever. If You allready got a 8HP and don't want to get rid , Get another 9.9 or 15 Hp 2 Stk and run them together(Or keep 1 out of the water,). Back in the day a Budy brought a 20 HP Chrysler, and we put it by my 8HP. Newer went so fast in my old 12 Ft Starcraft

This is Not a Test ... So you tested the first motor with all other motors out of the water but you tested the second motor with the first dragging in the water? ... what are you american?

I noted that in the video. The Merc won’t lock in the up position for some reason without some difficulty.I do these one handed, even running three ancient engines. Think of it as non value added entertainment. In any event thanks for watching and I hope you enjoyed it.

You did not tip up the Merc. So the Yammy would have been even faster.

@@davemilster Correct, I noted that in the video. I am doing everything one handed and the merc is tricky when raising as it won’t lock in the up position. Let’s face it the Yamaha is a way better motor just expensive.
