Invincible is the best page 1 to End Comic Book of all Time IMO, BUT 97 is an elevated product. Invincible is still a parody in many ways, not as much as The Boys, where 97 odly enough can stand on its own.

We underestimate the x-men comics that the animated series is heavily based on with the one most sold American comic book in history (X-men 1991 #1) from the art to the story is all based on those comics created by Chris Claremont and Jim Lee.

Invincible is impressive as not just an adaption of, but an evolution of, the comic; from what I've seen in reaction videos it seems like there's lots of great stuff for fans of the comic but at the same time going different places with it because the original creator is guiding it. X-Men 97 is amazeballs because I never thought they would be able to speed-run decades of comics history WHILE being faithful to it WHILE maintaining a consistent soap opera tone WHILE balancing between entire giant bushes of memberberries and being fresh and new. So uh yeah they're both equally amazing.

I’m gonna be honest, I kinda trailed a little off Invincible but I also personally feel like the show is best when it’s binged every season (which is a part of the reason as to why I enjoyed season 1 so much). And as soon as X-Men 97 dropped, it instantly got all of my attention, and I wasn’t even expecting it to since it’s been a while that I’ve been into the xmen in general . And now I’m having a hell of a time catching up on xmen comics 👍🏾 So tl;dr, it’s xmen 97 for me ✨😂

What I've noticed since Episode 5 of X-Men 97 dropped is how much more not only mainstream media has picked up on - it's also personalities in sports & entertainment that have picked up on it on socials. Suddenly reaction channels that weren't paying attention to it are binge-watching the show to catch up on it. X-Men has something that Invincible doesn't - a loyal fan base built up over decades. And that makes it 'superior.' in that sense. But I think there's room for both styles and approaches and I'm curious how X-Men 97 evolves without the major creative force behind the shape of the show. And if Marvel brings back other superhero properties because of it's critical and commercial success? It's just going to be a lot more impactful on the cuture.

​@@czechxicans It's the "which is superior" part that gets me. Talking about how each show animates differently and how you prefer one to another is great. Talking about how each series approaches storytelling differently is awesome. As soon as you bring in ranking and competition based comparisons it sours me on the discussions. Art to me is about communicating complex issues in safe spaces. Bringing competition into communication feels like those online debates, instead of communicating it's an attempt to win/ conquer.

Invincible. Just reached issue 100 in the comics and if the show keeps going as good as it is I have no doubt it will be the best animated superhero show of all time

Also, to let the real world intrude for a moment - Marvel really, really needs to resolve the Beau De Mayo thing satisfactorily, and soon, because how terrible would it be for that to turn into some Jonathan Majors level issue. (I'm not comparing the two men for an instant, to be clear - the whole point with De Mayo is we haven't seen anything definitive for why he parted ways / left / was dismissed.) It would be so horrible for XMen 97 to be on such a roll and then have some real world drama derail or sour it somehow.

First Season of Invincible was great but honestly all the subplots and supporting characters are pretty boring. The plots moving sooooo slow now. The whole season went by and Omni man didn't even break out of prison yet? X-men is packing soooo much more story into 6 episodes much more then Invincible ever did and with more plots twists and turns.
