Which Is The BEST Laser Engraver for TUMBLERS? Diode vs. CO2 vs. Fiber Laser

I will be laser engraving tumblers with four different types of laser engraving machines. First I will be engraving tumblers with the xTool S1 diode laser engraver, then I will laser engrave a tumbler using the xTool P2 CO2 laser cutter, and with the ComMarker B4 fiber laser marking machine. Lastly I will show you how to engrave tumblers with the xTool F1 dual beam diode engraver with a galvo mirror system. Each of them has their respective advantages and drawbacks, which we will cover in this video.

Hey just a suggestion, you can take it or leave it but it would def make my day haha...when you are showing different items, not necessarily this video but in others when you are showing off difference items it would be cool if in the corner of the screen you added a text that tells us Power/Speed/Passes for instance 100/40/1...idk maybe you could consider it...

Anyway great video, for me I use a fiber laser and as an advice after your initial engraving, you could use higher frequencies (60hz) and low power (20%) and 500-1000ms speed to get the engraving more look more polished multiple time until you get your desired result

@@JTMakesIt for tumblers to full wrap. I use my P2 to full wrap, but do alot of cleaning after with barkeepers friend and la awesome. No cleaning needed for the f1

Hi, i like your videos, you are very thorough and informatinve. Do you remember that I asked a while ago about you doing the voice over instead of using a computer voice? You changed that, and you don't have to answer if you don't want, but I'm curious how you handle the voiceover in your recent videos? The voice is much better and I could not tell if it is a human or machine. (some pronounciations are very slightly off, but that might as well be accent) Do you voice them yourself now? A very good text-to-voice tool? Hired someone to do the voiceover?

I’d imagine you could get similar results to the F1 with the S1 if you swapped out the laser head for the IR version ahead of a second pass. That said, swapping heads midway for every tumbler would be pretty tedious if you are planning more than a few jobs.

I have one more question... If I found a sculpfun engraver machine 10 watt... can I replace the the 10 watt laser head to 60 watt laser head on the same machine in the future ?

If you buy s10 then I think 10W is maximum. If you get the 10W s30 pro, then you can upgrade to at least 33W module. Maybe the upcoming 40W will also be compatible. But if you know how to tinker with electronics, then you could modify the wiring it to fit even more powerful modules I think.

Did you happen to document how long each machine took to engrave that graphic?

I didn't exactly, because my settings were far from ideal. With good settings, the fiber laser would be the fastest, then CO2, then the diode laser and lastly the xTool F1. F1 is last because it needs to do 2 passes, but less cleanup is needed with it afterwards.

thank you for your nice video, in your setting you needed to fill in the diameter. Since the tumbler is coned shape, which diameter do I use ? top or bottom or just an average ?

I use the average. This only affect the stretching of the image. The tumbler has a very mild cone shape and it doesn't affect the image stretch visibly.

Hi.. Im starting a laser engraving small business and Im very short with money... do you know where to find good used or aftermarket machines for sale? And If you can advise me... which machine should I get ? I will focus on engrave photos on wood, wood crafts projects, key chains. Do you sell used machines that you don't use ? Thank you

You should check Ebay or facebook marketplace. Sculpfun machines are very good for the money if you are on the budget. I don't sell my used machines internationally.
