This Jedi did not believe that the Order should be subservient to the republic as he saw it as a weakness, a weakness Palpatine and Plagius wished to exploit. This powerful Jedi was possibly the most gifted light saber duelest the order had seen in many years. His name was Dooku. At the this time, Dooku was a powerful Jedi master and Palpatine, only a sith apprentice. it is very likely Dooku was more powerful than the future emperor during this period. Ultimately though, Palpatine would corrupt the count, eliminating the threat of a Jedi order led by dooku.
